1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the name of the series might intrigue or tempt you in any way to watch the series. Perhaps makes you curious to know the reason behind such a weird name as Buffy?

Well, that’s what I thought when I first about it. As they say, we should never judge a book by its cover. In this case, we should never judge a series by its name.

Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, is the one who stands all alone against the vampires and the other demons of the night parading in the world.

Buffy Summers is the one chosen by the universe to fight the vampires and the demons creeping into the world with her gang named the Scooby gang ready to fight with her against the evils of the world along with making through school and college along with the responsibility to save the world.

2. Castlevania

The show focuses on a vampire hunter who attempts to fight and save a besieged city from an army of mysterious creatures controlled by a Dracula.

The concept and the cinematography of the tv series are praised for its effects. The series is based on a video game, and it does a fantastic job of building a storyline with deep characterizations from the game itself.

The show sometimes becomes very slow as if trying to drag the story, but overall, it is a one-time watch focusing mostly on the trio of the show along with some other minor characters. Beware the display is vulgar and grotesque only watch if you can handle gore and violence without puking.

3. The Vampire Diaries

The latest and the most trending of the horror and fantasy genre, which aired for the first time in 2019 finding space in the hearts of its audiences.

As the title suggests, the series deals with the lively nightly lives of the year-old vampires in Staten Island and their struggles with a full-on comedy blast.

The series is based on the film by the same name released in 2014. The show has two seasons already streamlining of Netflix, and the series was renewed for a third season to be out in 2021.

It is must-watch series if you’re a fan of darkness, Vampire, and comedy, surely a lethal combination.

6. Van Helsing

One of the most liked and famous series based on the film by the same name. Where the main character Van Helsing a vampire and a monster hunter, is sent to deal with the evil plans of Count Dracula.

It released in 2004 for the first time based on classics such as Stoker’s Dracula and Shelley’s Frankenstein.

The story reveals the daughter of a once-famed vampire, Vanessa Helsing, who now is in comma as the vampires overtake on the world.

The badass hybrid and the mother of Klaus’s daughter from a nightstand in Mystic Falls which appears in The Vampire Diaries and the romantic interest of the noble Elijah Mikaelson.

The notion of the ‘always and forever’ which the Mikaelson family follows in saving their close ones no matter what the consequences are.

The ruthless hybrid and the most loved anti-hero, hero of all the times whom you’ll hate but end up falling in love with by the end through the tremendous transformation he goes through.

His daughter Hope becomes the only Hope for the entire family.

8. Penny Dreadful

Next on our all vampire tv shows list is another very recent addition to the genre a British-American fantasy and horror series which premiered on tv in April 2014 and ended with the wrap of its third season. (which is also the finale season of the series)

The name mentions towards 19th-century themes and directly uses 19th Century literary characters such as Frankenstein and the monster from Shelley’s Frankenstein, Dorian Gray from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Dracula from Bam Stoker’s Dracula and Henry Jekyll from A Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by R.L Stevenson along with many others.

A sequel to Penny Dreadful the series, namely, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, was recently aired in April 2020.

9. A Discovery of Witches

This British Tv series on our all vampire tv shows list is based on Trilogy written Deborah Harkness, namely, All Souls Trilogy, and the series is named after the first book in the Trilogy.

The series first aired in September 2018 and the success the season 1 achieved allowed the series to be renewed for 2nd and 3rd season.

The story is pretty intriguing, which will keep you glued to the screen until to reach its end.  Diana Bishop, a historian, finds an enchanted manuscript in a library revealing a whole new world to her a world full of magical creatures such as vampires, witches, demons, and other animals.

Eventually, she befriends a vampire named Matthew Clairmont, who aids her in keeping the book safe and solve the puzzles and riddles within the magazine, all the while dodging the magical obstacles and hurdles in their way.

10. Legacies

The next on all vampire tv shows list is Legacies, which is the squeal to The Originals tracing the life of Hope Mikaelson after losing her father and mother in an attempt to save her.

Being a tribrid (Vampire, werewolf, and a witch), she inherits from her family, but this is not only she inherits. She also inherits a 1000 years’ worth of enemies her family made.

She comes under the protection of Alaric Saltzman, who runs the Salvatore School, who becomes her new family and helps her find herself. I like the show, as the title symbolizes it deals with legacies the characters of TVD and The Originals left behind.

Hope along with Landon love of her, who is a phoenix and Lizzie & Josie the siphons. They fight the monsters coming to attack them one by one. The series is fun to watch as if we enter high-school but of magical creatures that are better to watch than a simple high-school series of romance and stuff.

The series has already released two seasons and had been renewed for the third season. I can’t wait for it to come out.

Recently, the vampire genre has gained much reputation and is considered one of the most liked genres in the last few years. The genre is fascinating, with so much suspense and intricate storylines weaved together that it makes it hard not to like it.
