Education is an essential aspect of a student’s life and their parent’s life. Every parent wants to impart knowledge to their child and expect them to score higher than their neighbor’s or relative’s children. Even primary school child is always judged by how many marks they achieve in their school exams and the numbers printed on their report cards.
An accomplishment goal for education is to score more and more marks on the “Report Card,” more than that distant relative of yours. Every Indian child has to go through the phase where they have to choose between either being an engineer or a doctor.
According to the Indian education system, if a person scores good marks in higher secondary education, he should be doing engineering in some IITs or NIT. Not every individual wants to become an engineer or a doctor.
If he aspires to become an artist, a cricketer, a singer, a dancer, or whatever he wants to, it’s time to let him be and flourish! A child needs support and motivation from the parents and society.
Here are some examples of successful people who did not care about their report cards and proved to the world that they could conquer it all regardless of what their report cards had to say or define them.
1) Benjamin Franklin

Franklin was an author, scientist, inventor, political theorist, politician, postmaster, musician, civic artist, satirist, and diplomat. Did you know that he had to leave his school at ten due to family financial conditions?
He had to earn a livelihood for their family. Franklin had worked hard, and he was a completely self-made man. He always believed, “The harder you work, the more you evolve as a better person.”
2) Arjun Kapoor
He is a famous Indian actor who appears in Bollywood movies. He made his debut in Ishqzaade, a romantic film. He gained highly positive reviews and was nominated as the best male debut actor.
However, most of us didn’t know that he had failed the twelfth examination, with low marks on the report card, and he quit his studies after that. He gained a lot of weight and lost his confidence. But who knew that a sloppy grumpy boy would turn into such a handsome hunk of B-town today?
3) Dhiru Bhai Ambani
Dhiru Bhai Ambani was born in the western state of Gujarat. He was from a family who knew how to stretch every penny a long way. Besides this, he was hard-working, intelligent, and tenacious but had very little interest in education.
He wanted to build his lines of fate, and so he did. Now he is regarded as India’s famous business tycoon, founded Reliance Industries.
4) Albert Einstein

He was a theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity. He was a typical everyday child with an extraordinary curiosity for science. He ended his formal education at the age of 16. He also tried to enter the Federal Institute of Technology. Due to their lack of knowledge in other subjects, he failed. His name, Einstein, is synonymous with the word “genius.”
5) Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States and received his formal education in an estimated 18 months. Lincoln walked miles to borrow a book, worked various jobs, including shopkeeper, postmaster, and surveyor & set up a national banking system while he was a president.
6) Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet, philosopher, and artist. He wrote many novels, dramas, and poems and composed music. However, Tagore was an utter failure in school and an inattentive student. He flunked his exams, then he was taken out and home-tutored.
Gitanjali was a world-famous poetry book by Tagore. Jana Gana Mana, India’s national anthem, was one of his most famous works amidst the list of many more marvelous works.
7) Thomas Edison

Edison developed a hearing problem at an early age, and one of his teachers was always annoyed at him for his inability to hear and answer appropriately. Thus, he dropped out after three months of education. But now, he is known as the best at his work. He was a businessman and an American inventor, a successful manufacturer, and a businessman who was highly skilled at marketing his inventions. Edison developed many devices that influenced many lives.
8) Bill Gates
He is an inventor, computer programmer, philanthropist, and investor. Gates co-founded Microsoft, which became the world’s largest computer software company. Gates dropped out of Harvard University and started a business and failed. Now, he is the richest man in the world. He believes if you are intelligent and know how to use your intelligence, you can reach your goals and targets.
9) Walt Disney
Steve Jobs was a cartoonist, entrepreneur, voice actor, film producer, and animator. He co-founded the famous Walt Disney Company and was 16 years old when he left school and joined the Army. He won 22 Oscars Awards and 59 Academy Awards.
10) Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was best known as the CEO of Apple Inc. He made the world better. Like every person, he wanted to do a graduate degree, but he dropped out in the first semester; he founded Steve Wozniak, and they made their own company called Apple. And now, he is recognized as the pioneer in the Microcomputer Revolution.
However, in college life definitely, a bookworm cannot survive. These are not mere examples. They are the inspiration for those who stop believing in themselves.
Remember, simple grading based on whatever you wrote in exams doesn’t judge you. Don’t always stick to piles of books, and there is a world beyond that.
Follow your heart and do whatever you like, and you won’t be judged, or maybe you will be, but you must not care because you are so much more than your report card says.
