A world without food is like a sea without fishes; trust me this is worse than anything for seafood lovers. But food without chef is like a diamond without polish which makes it just a piece of carbon and who wants that on their fingers?

Hailing from the land of spices, we have some of the best chefs in the globe produced by India, who with magic turn copper to gold like the old Midas. Take a peek at India’s finest culinary masters loved all across the world.

1. Kunal Kapur

The Punjabi at heart and an all rounder Chef and Restaurateur, Kunal Kapur is one of the finest Celebrity chef India has. Known as the judge of Masterchef India, he was once invited to judge the Master chef USA semi-finals where he being the only judge who Shaan se could provide a constructive criticism about Hygienic cooking.

2. Sanjay Thumma

The Vah Chef raging all across the food channels in Youtube, Sanjay Thumma is one of the most loved chefs of all cooking amateurs who turn to YouTube to save themselves from cooking fiascos. He is especially popular amongst Indian Expatriate communities in Europe and the America. His must try is the amazing and lip smacking Andhra Chicken Pulao that one must try for the Vah Effect.

3. Atul Kochar

An Indian Born Britain-based chef, restaurateur and television personality, Atul Kochar is the most widely loved and critically acclaimed Chefs in the Britain and also the second Indian Chef to have received Michelin Star Chef Designation in the world. After India’s Biggest diamond Kohinoor, Atul Kochar is the most sought after Indian Gemstone by the Britishers.

4. Aarti Sequeira

The star chef from The Next Food Network Star, Aarti had been participating in cooking competitions and on-camera challenges to determine who would be awarded their own culinary show on the network. Although Sequeira believed her experience with the Aarti Paarti online show would give her an advantage with the camera segments, she decided to be the loved food author that she is now. She is currently the part of the most famous food series “Unique sweets” and “Unique bites”.

5. Shipra Khanna

Winner of the second season of Master Chef India, Shipra Khanna has gone on to become the most popular young chef of India globally. Her specialty is Global cuisine, Indian, baking, Desserts and fusion food and she has opened up restaurants. She has her own YouTube channel Shipras’s Kitchen. She is also an author and has written “The Spice Route” and “Sinfully” Yours recently which is on Desserts and has been honoured by Le Cordon Bleu Paris (twinkles to the chef!!)

6. Ranveer Brar

An Indian chef, TV show host, judge and food stylist. His television shows include Breakfast Xpress, Snack Attack, Homemade, The Great Indian Rasoi, Health Bhi Taste Bhi, Ranveer’s Cafe, Food Tripping and Thank God It’s Fryday. He was also one of the judges for season four of MasterChef India. He is not just praised for his stylish broodish good looks on the screen but his iconic style with food. Well, I can say he do deserve to be the chocolate boy of the culinary industry.

7. Vikas Khanna

An award-winning Michelin starred Indian chef, restaurateur, cookbook writer, filmmaker, humanitarian and the judge of MasterChef India Season 2, 3, 4, 5 and Masterchef Junior. He is based in New York City. In 2011, People magazine named Khanna in the list of Sexiest Men Alive and also referred to him as “The Hottest Chef of America.” Well looks like his food is not the only steamy element to him.

8. Sanjeev Kapoor

An Indian celebrity chef, entrepreneur writer and television personality. Kapoor stars in the TV show Khana Khazana, which is the longest running show of its kind in Asia; it broadcasts in 120 countries and in 2010 had more than 500 million viewers. He also launched his own Food Food channel, and is probably the earliest known and popular face of the culinary shows in India. He has also been a contestant at Jhalak Dikhlaja, though not a very good dancer with his feet, he can make his finger dance to the foods delight.

9. Tarla Dalal

The soul of Indian vegetarian cooking and a gleaming delight to every child’s instant and tasty tiffin recipes, late Tarla Dalal was one of my favourites. She also ran the largest Indian food website, and published a bi-monthly magazine, Cooking & More. Her cooking shows included The Tarla Dalal Show and Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal. Being a non-vegetarian, her dishes and easy-peasy recipes were and still are a rescue to most of my Tuesdays and Thursdays.

10. Vineet Bhatia

A Michelin Starred Chef, Vineet Bhatia is that rarity, an Indian chef who invents; his cooking is clear flavour, robust, gimmick-free. Famous for his twist of tastes, the man has talent to make unbelievable food art from unbelievably ignored vegetables. One of the trail-blazers in applying Indian techniques to ingredients that are rare or unknown in India is Vineet Bhatia. He surely is India’s brightest minded chef.

But isn’t it a known fact, whether East or West, Indian chefs are the best!
