Kim Kardashian was on cloud nine recently.
She was excited by the news of Richard Glossip not being executed. Kim Kardashian tweeted,
” The US Supreme Court has granted a stay of execution to Richard Glossip. He will NOT be executed!”

Richard Glossip
Richard Eugene Glossip is a 60-year-old American citizen who is presently serving his terms awaiting in Oklahoma Penitentiary for the execution of his death sentence.
He is a first-degree murder convict in the murder trials of his boss Barry Van Treese.
He has been held for culpable homicide and involvement in the murder. He is accused of executing murder through Justin Sneed who killed the victim with an aluminum baseball bat.
Justin Sneed who was only 19 years old at the time of the murder pleaded guilty and testified against Richard Glossip Justin Sneed was a worker and Richard Glossip was a manager at the Maintenance store owned by the victim Barry Van Treese.
Punishments Awarded
Richard was convicted of first-degree murder and awarded a death sentence whereas Justin Sneed was awarded a life sentence as he made a deal by terrifying Richard Glossip.
The case however gained International media’s attention due to the nature of the verdict.
His supporters believe that the case had little or no evidence that points to Richard Glossip’s involvement and the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals called the case against Richard “extremely weak”.
Claim of Innocence
Richard Glossip has refused to plead guilty and maintained his innocence despite having his last meal thrice.
His legal team claims that Justin Sneed, who is a drug addict had consumed drugs at the time of murder. The team claims that this makes his testimony invalid.
In September 2015, his legal team filed two papers referring to the psychiatric evaluation of Sneed and another one producing two witnesses.
However, the Oklahoma Court of criminal appeals voted in for proceeding with the execution.
Delay in Execution
Richard was scheduled to be executed on 22 September 2022. However, on August 22, Mr. Kevit Stitt, the Oklahoma Governor awarded a stay of 60 days for execution.
On November 22, another 60 days of stay of execution was granted by the Governor for allowing the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to complete the appeal filed by Richard Glossip.
On January 23, the execution was further shifted to 18 May 23 post-Attorney General Gentner Drummond requested a new execution timetable due to a shortage of staff in the Department of Corrections.
Further on May 23, Richard’s attorney filed a request in the form of a petition for further delay in execution. The attorney cited the presence of new evidence which requires examination.
On 05 May 23, the court granted the stay in execution for the death penalty.
Support for Richard Glossip
The internationally acclaimed case has drawn the attention of numerous celebrities and famous personalities. Few amongst them include Mark Ruffalo, Kim Kardashian, Sir Richard Branson, Sister Helen Prejean, and Pope Francis.
