There are some mysteries we will never be able to solve. They have remained as a question for the year passed by and will remain the same for years to  come. The MH-370 Malaysian plane is a good example of the unsolved mysteries in the world.

With nothing conclusive after months of searching, will we be able to discover its fate? So here are 7 intriguing, byzantine and unexplainable mysteries of the world that have kept the confounding experts and the casuals alike.

1.The Taos Hum – Mysteries of the World

In the small town of Taos, New Mexico, a certain buzz can be often heard on the horizon which is comparable to the sound of a distant diesel engine. Although this sound can be heard by a naked ear but various sound detection devices are unable to pick it up and thus known as Taos Hum and till today nobody has been able to identify how this sound is created.

2.The Bermuda Triangle – Mysteries of the World

This legendary expense of northern Atlantic ocean can be found between Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. In this “Devil’s Triangle” many ships and airplanes have mysteriously disappeared. Pilots often tell that their instruments go haywire over that stretch. Many theories have popped up like, some magnetic force or methane eruptions are present in that particular part of the ocean floor.

3. Kryptos – Mysteries of the World

Just outside the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, you will see a captivating sculpture that has coded encryptions on its surface. This sculpture was created by Jim Sanborn to show that everything can be resolved and decoded with the help of pattern and clues.It was composed of  four encrypted messages of which three have been deciphered but the fourth still remains a mystery.

Now known as one of the most famous unsolved codes in the world “Kryptos”  is a fascinating lure for both amateurs and professionals cryptanalyst who despite several clues from the sculptor have not been able to crack it.

4. Zodiac letters – Mysteries of the World


Among many of the unsolved mysteries of the world are the murder mysteries, with one of the most infamous being that of a Zodiac killer. During the 1960s and 70s, a serial killer operating in Northern California sent a series of mind-boggling letters to the local police and press, referring himself as “Zodiac”, including a total of four cryptograms.

In the decades since, only one of the four letters have been deciphered which contained a very disturbing message. Despite enormous investigation both the murders and letters still remain a mystery.

5. Georgia Guidestones – Mysteries of the World

These are also known as the American version of Stonehenge. The Georgia Guidestones are located in the Elbert County are vaulted in the mystery, although they were erected only in 1979. On the walls 10 “new commandments”, written in English, Hebrew, Hindi, Arabic, China, Swahili, Russia and Spanish.

6. Jack the Ripper – Mysteries of the World

This name has been heard in many movies and shows. The mystery of this killer has spell-bounded the whole world since it first roughly struck in 1888.The name has stuck on when a letter written by someone who claimed to be the murderer was circulated in the media.

The serial killer brutally murdered 11 women, mostly female prostitutes. These murder cases could not be solved and still remain a mystery.

7.The Lochness Monster – Mysteries of the World

This is another worldwide famous unsolved mystery of the world.This mysterious creature is known to live in the daunting depths of the Loch Ness in Scotland. On December 6, 1933, the Daily Express published the photograph of a monster that was apparently lurking in the in Scotland’s Loch Ness.

Since then, there have been police investigations, scientific researchers, calls of a hoax and numerous sightings of a mysterious creature swimming in the dark waters of the Loch Ness.

Described as having long serpentine neck, this creature has been theorized as, to be the last in the long line of plesiosaurs, but no solid proof  has been uncovered to verify this theory. Hundreds of people flock religiously to catch a glimpse of “Nessie” (as it is affectionately called by the locals).

The whole universe is a mystery and our earth has got so many to be deciphered and to be learnt about. As it is been rightly said by Albert Einstein about mystery,” The most beautiful thing we can experience is mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science
