Top Cheapest Countries To Visit In 2021

1. India

Let’s begin with the one and only, India, one of the top cheapest countries to visit in 2021. India literally has it all. I mean you could spend all your budget in this country, and still have places to visit. That doesn’t mean it’s costly, though. It’s actually cheap, especially if you’re coming from the USA, UK, or any other Western Country. In India, if you ask for it, you’ll get it.

Snowy mountains, green mountains, vast golden deserts, blue seas accompanied by the crashing of white frothy waves, dense tropical rainforests, if you can imagine it, India probably has it. You have one of the 7 Wonders of the World in India. The Taj Mahal, that’s right. It’s in India. Here are some of the places I’d recommend.

1.Varanasi

The oldest city in India. Home to the oldest of the Hindu temples, it’s the place where people go for spirituality and great tasting street food. You also have the Ganga aarti at night, where people light fires and worship the river Ganga, and thousands of people from all over the world flock to see it.

2.Nanital

Switching gears a bit, Nainital is a valley city. It has many lakes and famous Hindu temples. The sights are unique, and in whichever direction you look, you’re bound to be amazed. Boating in the pear-shaped lake of Nainital is simply a memory for a lifetime…

3.Jaisalmer

While the entire state of Rajasthan has something for everyone, I think the iconic fort in Jaisalmer is what catches the eye. As it’s called, the golden city has its buildings and old forts made from sandstone, which shines like gold, or even better, some would argue when sun rays hit it. It’s definitely a place worth visiting, and even the Thar desert is not worth missing out on. As you saw, this is definitely one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021.

2. Nepal

India’s neighbour has much to offer in terms of beauty and spirituality. From Kathmandu to Bhaktapur, you’ll love every moment of this place, one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021. Let’s go through some of the cities in Nepal worth your time.

1.Kathmandu

The capital of Nepal, also the largest city in Nepal, is a unique city. You’ll get to see decaying buildings in the city, which would be a stark contrast to the amazing lively atmosphere that meets the eyes on the streets of Kathmandu. The height of Kathmandu is Durbar Square, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Unfortunately, it got damaged in 2015, but it remains a wonderful place to visit in Nepal.

2.Bhaktapur

Third of the royal cities, it is located on the trade route to Tibet. The sceneries here are amazing and definitely worth checking out.

3.Pokhara

It is set at the foothills of the highest mountains in the world. Pokhara is one of the most scenic cities in Nepal, and for trekkers, it is the gateway to the Himalayas. Being away from Kathmandu, you’ll begin to notice the air getting cleaner and the climate getting a lot better. One of Lake Phewa’s best places, which has a cluster of lakeside hotels, restaurants, and shops, is the best place for souvenirs to take back home.

4.Lumbini

The place is famous for being the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama or Buddha, founder of the Buddhist religion. Situated off the main road and about 250 km from Kathmandu, Lumbini is definitely worth your time, especially if you are interested in the Buddhist faith or awakening or mindfulness.

3. Thailand

If cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai attract you, there’s a good chance you already have your mind made up for travelling to Thailand. Here are some of the famous places for a quick summary. I’m going to talk about other sites here.

1.Railway Beach

The Krabi province in Thailand is home to some of the most iconic beaches, and the best among them is Railway Beach. In a nutshell, it is all those images from the National Geographic documentaries combined into one. White sand, turquoise water, and the touch of paradise may be all you ever needed to find that peace in your life you lost when growing up.

2.Koh Phi Phi

You’ll find one of the most popular resort areas in the Phi Phi islands. And they have been built for a good reason. The water is crystal clear, the beaches are beautiful, and the sand is soft. All of these are wrapped in the beautiful scenery that can be stared at forever and ever. One of the most famous and fun spots on the islands is Monkey Beach. There are plenty of macaques here and don’t have lunch here unless you’re a fan of having your lunch stolen by them.

Another interesting spot is Long Beach, which is a bit secluded, hence more privacy, and it’s the perfect place for watching the sunset with a glass of drink in your hand.

3.Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya offers a breathtaking peek into Thailand’s history, one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021. It was once one of the most important cities in Thailand, and you can find plenty of ancient palaces and temples. Over here, you’ll find hundreds of wats, chedis, prangs, and many Buddha statues spread around the park. It’s very near to Bangkok and is only a stone’s throw away.

4. Romania

Located in the Balkan Peninsula, Romania is a country you have to visit. Filled with ancient towns, mountain resorts, and a great art community, this country has many things to offer. Oh, and you can’t forget about the most famous person in this country, Dracula!! And he lives in Transylvania. Having said all that, let’s dive into what exactly are some of the things that Romania has to offer.

1.Sighisoara

Situated in Transylvania, this is one of Romania’s best places due to the beautifully preserved walled town. Over here, you’ll get to see an ancient citadel, which has been there since medieval times. An extravagant trading town was established here, hints of which remain to this day, and you’ll be amazed to visit this place.

2.Sibiu

Once part of Hungary, this city is located in Transylvania and offers travellers views of Grand Square, which have been in use since the 15th century, and Baroque buildings, including the Brukenthal Palace home to one of the oldest museums that can be found in this world. You can also be on the lookout for the remnants of ancient forts used to defend this city many hundred years ago.

3.Brasov

Brasov is its own world of a wonderful mix of modern life and old-world beauty with a touch of fascinating scenery. The Carpathian Mountains surround it, and the entire city is often considered a resort with skating and skiing facilities. An interesting adventure would be to walk down Rope Street, the narrowest street in the country.

4.Bucharest

Another city where the old and the new reside in harmony is Bucharest. Here you will come across centuries-old buildings, with modern high-rise buildings, like fresh bread on deliciously fermented French Fromage. Interestingly, this city boasts the largest Parliament globally, having 3100 rooms and 12 full stories to be impressed with. Another thing you can’t miss is the old town centre in one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021, which has cobblestone streets and old buildings, giving you an old vibe that won’t get anywhere else.

5. Mexico

Often associated with cheap resorts near the beach, and ancient structures, Mexico, is a fantastic place as a tourism relief place with plenty to offer. Let’s discover Mexico together.

1.Puerto Vallarta

This is one of the most popular beach destinations in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta. The city mainly attracts an older audience with an affinity for cruise ships and who looks to swim with the dolphins. Younger travellers can be found involved in diverse activities such as paragliding and jet skiing. Overall, this place is perfect for those who like to vacation at a slower pace.

2.Copper Canyon

Mexico’s Grand Canyon: One of Mexico’s most visited natural attractions is the amazing Copper Canyon. Funnily enough, it is, in fact, more profound and, in my opinion, similar in levels of “stunning,” so to speak. Thanks to this area’s increasing popularity as a travel destination, options are abundant for exploring this area of outstanding beauty that is completely natural. There’s next to nothing when it comes to human intervention. You can even take a railroad trip aboard the Ferrocarril Chihuahua al Pacifico.

3.City Center

The historic city of Mexico City is one of the most popular travel destinations and one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021 because of the many world-class museums, galleries, and attractions. Do focus on the historic city centre, a 15-square-kilometre UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 1400 important colonial buildings from back when the centuries had a one in front of them, to be more specific, from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

You’ll also find most of Mexico City’s attractions here within a minimal distance from Constitution Square, the central plaza. You’ll find the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Templo Mayor, where you can see the Aztec relics. Other than this, you also have huge volcanic mountains that overlook the city. Overall, this is one of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021.

So, there you have it, folks, a small but detailed list detailing some of the cheapest countries to visit in 2021 for satisfying the inner traveller in you. These places are affordable, relatively speaking, and if you’re looking to go abroad and your pockets are sufficiently deep, these places won’t be costly.
