4.1. Can You Customize Settings and Eye Expressions?
Yes, to activate the On/Off and Alert Mode functions on Ulo, you can create customized (and secret) sequences.
Ulo expresses itself through its facial expressions, especially eye expressions.
Ulo tired when the battery is low (less than 10%). When you take a picture of Ulo, he blinks. Ulo squints when someone is viewing a live video because its eyes follow your motions.
Ulo is distinguished by its random animations and eye expressions, which offer that extra spark of life.
You can modify the color, shape, and size of your eyes using a website and mobile apps to match your environment and preferences. There are no brands or emblems on the screens of Ulo, but you can tell what is planned.
4.2. How To Activate the Alert Mode on Ulo?
The Alert Mode is activated by a double-tap on Ulo’s forehead. Every movement made by your smartphone once Ulo exits your Wi Fi network is captured in an animated gif and transmitted through email.
No facial emotions are shown. The alarm feature is turned off when your smartphone (and hence you) reconnects to the same Wi Fi network. You could activate this feature on mobile apps as well.
4.3. Is Ulo Secure?
Ulo only keeps a few minutes of footage on its cloud server. Nothing is transferred to a third-party server from afar or had cloud access. There are no extra fees if you think of Ulo as your own personal server.
Only, when necessary, the owl delivers data to your safety devices. All devices have their own password as well as a two-step authentication process.
The setup is simple; when your smartphone connects for the first time, a QR code is generated. All you have to do now is show the device this code, and make sure you are connected to Wi fi during this process with Ulo.
This operation must be renewed in Ulo every six months.
