You can plenty of different types of skates in the market, so which one to buy? Generally, there are two categories: roller skates and the other is in-line skates. It’s one’s personal preference to buy any one of them. However, when it comes to which is better, as I have said earlier both have their benefits and limitations, so focusing on the things that make both a preferable choice will be a good approach.
Roller skates are the ones that are also known as quad skates as they contain two pairs of wheels. This feature allows these skates to stand on their own, unlike inline skates that have wheels fixed in a single line that do not allow them to stand straight on their own. Establishing a balance on roller skates is easier than the inline skates, so further it’s your choice what you want to get.
3. Skates with ankle care
When it comes to roller skating, it’s so easy to sprain ankles regardless of the type of skates you are wearing. It’s better to make your health conditions your priority to avoid the risk of minor or major injuries. Further, you can get either high-top boots or low-top boots as per your likes. However, the crucial thing to know here is that high-top boots provide a good grip on the ankles and cover them well while low-top boots do not cover ankles and there is more risk of spraining your ankles.
Further, inline skates are generally high tops but low tops are also popular because they look like wearing sneakers.
4. Things to know about wheels before buying roller skates
After looking through the comfort of the skates, another important part of the skates is the wheels. The first thing that must be considered is the height and width. The larger the wheels, the faster the speed you can get while the smaller wheels allow you to make quick movements. The size of the wheels is generally written on the wheels in mm. Another thing is the hardness of the wheels. Harder wheels provide lesser grip than the softer wheels. You can choose the wheels based on your preference for skating outdoors or indoors.
