After the phenomenal success of the Mangalayaan, entering the orbit of the MARS, ISRO is coming up with its new endeavor. The ASTROSAT is India’s first-ever effort to establish an observatory space to research and reinvestigate cosmological phenomena.
ASTROSAT
It is India’s Hubble telescope, sent initially by NASA in 1990, and has been operational until now. As many as five payloads are being carried by ASTROSAT, including UVIT- Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope. Through these, we can observe the celestial processes, and thus we can obtain a better understanding of the entire universe.
The previous projects- Mangalayyan and Chandrayaan– the missions to the MARS and the moon, respectively, were mainly technologically based endeavors and were foundations of India’s space projects. This one covers a much vaster area and is projected to open up a much greater space observation.
