In recent years, Yoga has gained extreme popularity. I was never a fitness freak and never thought to give Yoga a chance. However, when Yoga became popular globally and took over the internet, I decided to give it a shot to stay fit without sweating in the gym.

I didn’t get the chance to realize when yoga changed my entire perspective about it, especially when I linked it with meditation.

Yoga is not a fitness exercise, it’s a journey, and this journey becomes complete when it is combined with regular meditation practice that not only contributes to your physical growth but mental and spiritual well-being as well.

Initially, I took it as an exercise for my physical well-being and then I tried meditation. Eventually, it became my hobby especially when I came across videos and suggestions from people on Instagram and other social media platforms about how yoga and meditation changed their lives, like this one –

Now, I can say, they weren’t wrong. Yogic exercises may make you feel like regular fitness classes, but the physical and mental peace you find while doing yoga, cannot be explained.

Doing meditation improved my concentration, not only for the materialistic realm but it showed me a path to the spiritual world. As I got more indulged in yoga, I started to gather knowledge about it, the origin of yoga, the story behind Patanjali,1 and the journeys of other people with Yoga. As you can see here –

And when you do yoga, you realize the new changes in yourself. As I continued my yoga journey, it gave me numerous health benefits and always kept my mind at peace.

In the journey of life, it improved my emotional as well as spiritual well-being. Mediation taught me to concentrate on the crucial aspects of my life and took me far from the chaos of the outside world. I realized, in search of Yoga, I found the true joy of my life.

Yoga doesn’t make changes in you but it beautifully transforms your soul.

I have read, that it is best to perform yoga and practice meditation in the morning.2 When you practice yoga in the morning, it keeps you fresh and energetic the entire day, and this is one of the main pros of Yoga. It taught me to live in the present and make efforts for the future while staying connected to spirituality and having a positive mindset during life’s journey.

However, if you don’t do it, you won’t realize it. There is no end to describing the importance of Yoga in my life. Mediation teaches me to be patient and keep calm and the best will arrive soon. It taught me to keep an alignment between my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual phases of life. You can go through this, how people are embarked on the journey of self-care with Yoga –

Yoga gifted me the understanding of devotion to the divine power and how the path of spirituality directed me on the way to ultimate enlightenment. Yoga isn’t a chapter in life, it’s the mentor of life that taught me to stay calm, patient, and hopeful while it kept me physically and mentally fit to continue my life’s journey on the path of spirituality.
