Grindelwald was the villain in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, an alternate from the “potter” verse
And by god, WHAT A VILLAIN.
The flourish and mysticism Depp brought to the screen was simply something else, genocidal maniac or not.
His rendition of a wizard who has gone off the rails maniac was so on point, the anger towards muggles for not being as important magic folk…
I mean it’s such a universally acceptable idea. People with magic obvious, at least to themselves, do seem much more valuable than folks without magic.
But humanity’s understanding and acceptance shine through still, and that’s what I love about the movie as a whole.
