Well the fact that the show had to end wasn’t justified itself. BUT because every beautiful thing eventually has to end so did the show. Now talking about was it justified or not… well I believe that some of the characters got their dreamy and happy ending. But well sadly our favourite Joey wasn’t so lucky. I trust that given how everyone in the show somehow healed from their trauma and bad routine, Joey’s ending was unfortunate. Chandler healed from his commitment issues and, Monica finally settled with the person who can be a sunshine in her hectic life and help in her obsessive compulsive disorder of deep cleaning. Ross got married to the love of his life and OH I WISH HE FINALLY, FINALLLLYYY GOT OVER HIS DIVORCE OBSESSION. In fact I would have killed to see him take the right name at the alter at the end. Rachel finally settled with someone who didnt actually look like a Potato head and well now they can spend whole their lives figuring out if they were on a break or not. Phoebe, oh Phoebe! settled with the person who actually have the place and all the intentions to stash all her funky and beautiful jewels. After the hectic past of getting abandoned from her family at the young age and living with an evil twin, she deserved that happy ending with her Mike who was randomly found in the cafeteria. I hope PRINCESS CONSUELA BANANA HAMMOCK AND CRAP BAG had a beautiful journey. Only if we could be a part of more of it.
BUT WHAT ABOUT JOEY? OR GUNTHER? AND DOES SMELLY CAT GETS A GOOD HOME AT LAST? DID A NEW GROUP OF FRIENDS CAME TO LIVE IN THAT APARTMENT WITH PURPLE WALLS?
Joey was there for all of them during all their difficulties. He tried talking Rachel out of the moving to Paris plan and Chandler and Monica from moving far away. He did spent his nights with many girls but his character deserved to end with someone. Gunther didnt get Rachel but did he get the Cafe or is he still working there.
The ending was emotional yet funny thanks to the Chandler’s last punk.
But it could serve more.
