The highly controversial daily soap of this decade “Pehredaar Piya Ki” has finally stopped airing. After hardly airing 30 episodes the channel chose to end the show on August 28th after airing the final episode on Sony Liv. The remaining unaired episodes are continuing to air on the channel outside India.
The show revolves around about an 18-year-old girl marrying a 9-year-old rich boy so she can become his caretaker and protect him from his evil family who is after his property. This concept was not liked by a major part of the audience and the show was accused of promoting child marriage. Though such allegations were denied by the makers of the show, but the serial gained negative reviews from all around.
After deciding to pull a plug on the show mid-way because of the late night slot, it has been confirmed by the makers that when the show returns, it will be with a renewed story, same team and will not touch any controversies, like their previous show has. And the show will take a leap of 10 years avoiding the concept of child marriage.

And according to sources, the show will take a leap of 10 years. Affan Khan who plays the role of 9 yrs old Prince Ratan Maan Singh will not be part of the new show, instead, a grown up actor will replace him.
