Michel de Nostradamus, popularly known as Nostradamus (1503-1566), was a famous French scholar and seer (one who could see the future), who earned an excellent reputation in the 16th century for his thousands of predictions (quatrains) in his book
Les Prophecies, over half of which have already come.
16th century Europe has witnessed the most interesting, thrilling, and romantic tales of the monarch and high nobles ever in history. Historical figures like him always attract many philosophers and researchers fascinated by history and mystery. I couldn’t resist my temptation to learn more about him.
Today I will give you a little sneak peek into the life of one fantastic character of the 16th century, Nostradamus, who was said to have supernatural powers that allowed him to watch glimpses of the future.
All his prophecies were written in Greek, French, Italian, and Latin languages, making them very hard to interpret.
It may seem utter rubbish for a rational mind, but History has always favored him.
6 Most Famous Nostradamus Prophecies
Here is a list of the 6 most famous prophecies which came true!!
1. Death of King Henry II of France.
“The young lion will overcome the older one, on the field of combat in a single battle; He will pierce his eyes through the golden cage, two wounds made one, then to die a cruel death.”
After 4 years of this prediction, King Henry II of France was killed by a lance during a jousting tournament in the summer of 1559.
2. The Great London Fire 1666
“The blood of the just will commit a fault at London, burnt through lighting of twenty threes the six; The ancient lady will fall from her high place, several of same sect be killed.”
The great fire of London that lasted for 3 days almost destroyed the whole of central Europe. 80% of the city was destroyed, including 13000 houses, 89 churches, and 52 halls.
3. French Revolution (Fall of king Louis XVI)
“Before war comes, the great wall will fall; The king will be executed, his death coming too soon will be lamented; The guards will swim in blood, near the river Siene the soil will be blooded.”
The French revolution (1789-1799) was a period of significant transformation under which the monarchy that ruled France for centuries collapsed. As a result, King Louis XVI was accused of high treason and was executed on January 21st, 1793.
4. Rise of Napoleon
“Pau, Nay, Loron, more fire than blood, swimming in praise, the great one hurries to the confluence; He will refuse entry to the Piuse, the depraved ones and Durrance will keep them imprisoned.”
Pau, Nay, and Loron refer to three towns in Paris as “more of fire than blood,” indicating that the King will not be of noble lineage or blood. If the alphabet ‘PAU, NAY, LORON ‘ is rearranged, it is read as Napoleon Roy or Napoleon Bonaparte, who became the greatest emperor of France ever.
“From the depth of the west of Europe, a young child will be born of poor people; he who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; His fame will increase towards the realm of the east.”
Hundreds of years ago, Nostradamus predicted a child’s birth in western Europe in a very low-income family, who came to be renowned as Adolf Hitler. Nostradamus was right in his prediction as Hitler, with his intense Oratory skills, mobilized the Nazi army and was the main driving force behind World War II, starting with the German invasion of Polland.
6. 9/11 Attack
“Earthshaking fire from the center of earth will cause tremors around the new city; wot great rocks will war for a long time, then Arethusa will redden a new river.”
These lines are interpreted as the prophecy about the devastating 9/11 attacks on the twin towers that stunned humankind.
