If there is something in the world that we have waited for the longest, it’s the F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion.
The show went off the air 12 years ago, and it’s back now for a two-hour special. Need we ask for anything more? No!
Now that we have established the best thing to ever happen to any F.R.I.E.N.D.S fanatic let’s get down to the details.
The two-hour special will be aired on NBC, where the hit show was regularly aired. Well, at least for the Americans. It will be aired on the 21st of February. Yes, that’s right! The month of Love! F.R.I.E.N.D.S love!
The reunion will be held in honor of James Burrows’ 1000th episode, the guy who, back in the day, shot 15 episodes of this show as well.

Look, even our beloved Joey, Matt LeBlanc, tweeted about it!
Should be a good time! https://t.co/5mrWPJkD3R

The cast always had something to say about the reunion. Lisa Kudrow, our weirdo Phoebe had said that she would love to see what all those people would be doing after 10 years because they’ll have to be responsible as parents. But then, it wouldn’t be F.R.I.E.N.D.S anymore.
Jennifer Aniston had similar thoughts as she had said that the show ended at the right time when people still wanted more, and our Chandler just wanted to go back in time.
With everything said and done, there’s still a catch. And that catch is this particular statement.
“I’m hoping all six will be in the same room at the same time. I’m not sure we can logistically pull it off.” NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt had said this when asked if they’ll have all six of them in the same room.
And that is exactly what’s happening.
- Chandler won’t be there.
- It’s not an episode. They’re just gonna sit and chit-chat.
We all want to take a trip down memory lane, we still long to hear Phoebe’s Smelly Cat, we still want to watch Red Ross, we still want to see Joey swallow that entire Turkey, we still want to hear “Oh My God” and “I Know,” we still want to watch Fat Monica dance, and of course, we always want to see Chandler cry because he’s the cutest of the lot!
There may only be the tiniest possibility that all of them will sit together and sip their cappuccinos and talk about how much their bosses hate them, but we can always hope. Because if there is one thing that the show has taught us, it is never to give up. Never give up on Ross and Rachel, never give up on Monica having kids, never give up on Phoebe living the normal life, and never give up on Joey giving a few words of wisdom.
It all might just happen. After all these years, it just might. Because that’s all that we have ever asked for, for so many years. And that’s what we’ll keep asking for till we’re as old as they were when they left and maybe even after that.
Even if Chandler isn’t there, I’ll await the 21st with more vigor and fanfare than for Valentine’s Day.
