Our first meal is breakfast1, one of the day’s essential feasts. The habit of ignoring morning meals became so familiar that made my way out of the house as early as possible. I often skipped my meals, sometimes got one or two quick breakfast bites, and left for work in a rush.
I’m a foodie, so it was my realization of not having proper morning meals that gave me pleasure and I missed this old routine. However, knowing that eating slowly is not only a good habit but also an act of kindness to myself, which I was surely denying.
Some of my colleagues said it’s okay to eat less or not have breakfast as it makes you more hungry during the day. I took it as just an excuse for not having proper breakfast, but I think it was also a realization that taking quick bites made me even hungrier every 3-4 hours, which was more annoying.
However, the important thing remained: breakfast. So, eventually, I started to steal 10-15 minutes from my daily morning rush hours to have my morning meals. But I couldn’t deny the fact that having breakfast made me hungrier throughout the day. So, now I had to find a solution to this.

And I thought it depends. Having fast food like breakfast meals can surely make you even hungrier, but eating healthy meals doesn’t have such side effects, and there are many light meals I have heard about that reduce cravings for more eating.
So, instead of eating sugary and heavy foods like cereals and fried food, I started eating light meals such as oats, toast and butter, avocado toast, and sometimes quinoa. Eating light morning meals made me energetic enough to focus only on work rather than having cravings, and it also contributed to maintaining my daily calories.

But then, it was pretty boring to have the same thing repeated so I couldn’t make it for long. Even now, after having time to have breakfast meals, I have begun to skip them again because the repetition of the same meals every 4-5 days made me sick again.
So, I searched YouTube for varying options for healthy morning meals. And here it goes: YouTube has a long list of nutritious and delicious meals.
But I only opt for those that can be prepared with the same ingredients that I was using with a bit of variation in methods or spice or by adding some additional ingredient to those existing food items. The healthy recipes I found on YouTube include Quinoa Porridge With Cinnamon Apples2, Blueberry Lemon Breakfast Quinoa, Vegan Breakfast Tacos with Avocado3, Loaded Veggie Avocado Quinoa Frittatas, and many more.
The recipes are quite easy, and can easily be prepared by following the ingredients and steps according to the mentioned in the video. However, learning to cook them was not very difficult, but eventually, when you cook something regularly, your skills and the dish’s taste improve.

I found it a lot better. Now, I don’t get to repeat my morning meals for up to 7-8 days, and having a leisurely breakfast by giving myself proper time to eat without rushing made it more fun and relaxing for my body and mind as well.
