Everything felt new and a little scary when I first started coding. I came from a Hindi background, so getting into CSE was not an easy task. My first programming language was C. People told me, “It’s the mother of all languages.”

But to me, it felt like the grumpy old teacher of coding. Very strict. Very tough. One small mistake, and it wouldn’t even run. Somehow, I passed, but honestly, I didn’t learn much.

No projects. No real knowledge. Just marks on paper.

Then one day, I heard about web development. That is when I met JavaScript. And trust me—it was love at first sight.

Unlike C, which felt old and angry, JavaScript felt young, fun, and full of energy. If I forgot a semicolon—it didn’t shout at me—it just moved on. It felt more like a friend who says “Don’t worry, let’s keep going.”

JavaScript is a bit crazy too. It does weird things, like saying typeof null === 'object'. Makes no sense right?

But that is the beauty of it. It is messy but it is fun. I didn’t just learn coding with JS. I learned how to explore, make mistakes, fail in style—and then try again.

That is when coding stopped feeling like a burden for me. It started to feel like play. And once you feel that—you don’t just code—you actually enjoy the journey.
