Getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily life concerns associated with our families, work, careers, and other commitments is common. We often indulge in many responsibilities that we almost forget to prioritize ourselves. This is the most common mistake people nowadays make, and so did I. Thankfully, it wasn’t too late when I learned to prioritize myself and started focusing on my self-care. And I realized that prioritizing your self-care isn’t a selfish act but an art that everyone must know.
So, how do I prioritize my self-care? Well, the first thing I do is follow a routine that involves practicing yoga, which contributes to my physical and mental well-being. Exercising regularly keeps me energetic, and doing a 10-minute meditation by closing my eyes and learning to get rid of unwanted thoughts keeps my mind at peace the entire day.

The next thing I do for my physical well-being is to get adequate sleep at night. Scrolling through social media and watching movies hinder my sleep routine, so until it’s work-related, I don’t stay up late at night, and I think it’s the best part of my self-care routine that I follow.

Regular exercise and enough sleep keep me physically well. Another part of my self-care involves keeping myself happy and refreshed, which I don’t take a chance with. So, to do this, firstly, I take small breaks from everything, whether it’s continuity in office work or my daily life problems.
To rejuvenate my mind and cheer myself up, I often indulge in the activities I like once a week, mainly on weekends. These activities involve visiting public places like malls to shop and parks to catch up with my friends. Also, I like evening walks that help me feel the rush of the city, and sometimes, I also get to see sunset views that make my day.
After prioritizing my physical well-being and peace of mind, the next thing is maintaining healthy relationships with myself and others. I call this social self-care. Now, you must consider how relationships can be a part of a self-care routine. Well, I need to dive a little deeper into this. Whether it’s our personal or social relationships, both affect our mental health and peace.
And mental peace is as important as physical well-being. So, when you always stay happy and know your self-worth, it eventually makes you confident, so I feel every day now. Further, when I feel so glad, the opinions of people or gossip around me don’t affect my peace of mind as I know my self-worth and cherish it. When I am happy with personal relationships, I tend to make others happy by having a cheerful and fun conversation with my family or friends or spending a hilarious and memorable time with them.

These are some healthy routines and tricks I follow to prioritize my self-care and not compromise on it. By the way, what methods do you follow to prioritize your self-care?
