Slow living has its beauty in it, but only if people could see it. The world waits for none. Do your job and live every day – a sentence I often idealized whenever I thought of living the life, wishing for a fast-paced, highly active life full of adventure, tides of highs and lows, a bucket list full of adrenaline rush I wanted to experience it all, I wanted to see every corner of the world. I was pursuing my wishes, achieving success, and fulfilling my goals. Everything seemed perfect until it didn’t. Finding peace in the constant rush of life almost seems impossible.
1. What is Slow Living?
Slow living is a mentality that builds us not based on materialistic approaches but on the essence of life; giving attention to intricate details helps us in the long run not to face depression, anxiety, sadness and ungratefulness.
In a fast-paced world where doing everything in a stipulated manner determines how well you live, slowing down is often seen as a weakness. But the sweetness of a slow-paced world, enjoying the little things, finding joy in moments that yield no rush, and having a mind and body that stays in harmony with each other are not easily seen nowadays.
Life is funny. We all plan to live life in a certain way yet forget that life has plans made up for us. It often has a continuous habit of teaching us new things, humbling us, and making us walk and run, only to fail and get up repeatedly.
2. The Joy of Embracing Slow Living
- It reduces stress and panic, which may harm the symphony of life.
- Connecting with nature more sincerely means taking care of the environment that we live in.
- A more profound understanding of the self and our needs and wants builds rapport in life.
People often confuse being slow-paced with lethargic tendencies, but these two are different. One brings peace, and the latter brings regret!
3. Tips to Follow for Slow Living
- We can simplify our daily schedules, take an approach that completes day-to-day tasks and find time to spend with ourselves.
- Practice meditations and yoga daily and have a deeper connection with mind-body health.
- Be attentive towards life.
- Be creative, take up a hobby left behind in your childhood and nurture it.
- Follow a digital detox now and then to get rid of social media addictions.
Being aware and present, practicing mindfulness, soaking in the morning quiet outdoors and watching the birds playfully tweak has greatly awakened my senses and filled my content, gratitude and a will to respect every situation that is present towards me.
Ending Remarks
Remember there is no such thing as being better in life, until you know how to do well within, life is a continuous process of learning positivity and unlearning the toxic trait that makes us devoid of feeling humane.
Life was never meant to be a race that everyone ought to make out of; it is a beautiful rhythm of new things, of simple living, and of following essential approaches.
