Shared Death Experiences are one of those experiences that has become the talk of the town. Even though the people who have been through an SDE aren’t known much, the debate is a continuous aspect of it. The limitation of thinking beyond reality still affects our minds and perceptions about SDEs.
While many people believe that SDEs are real, being curious to know more about them and get into the depth of truth is an obvious thing and there are many factors that people believe may contribute to occurrences of SDEs. Two of these factors are the role of religion and spirituality in death experiences.
If we talk about spiritualism, many people reported that they become more spiritual after going through an SDE, but that doesn’t signify that these people were spiritual before.
Many people didn’t believe in spiritualism at all until they experienced an SDE, which led them to the path of spirituality and made them a theist after experiencing this phenomenon and most people reported it.

Spiritual Awakening
It’s an ongoing debate, which can’t be wrapped up until there is a scientific disclosure about it. While you’ll see a few people sharing their opinions about God being real or shared-death experiences, most people who believe and have their faiths share their perceptions of believing in God and so do in Shared-Death experiences.
Mountains of evidence we are spiritual beings that survive bodily death:

So, instead of going into the debate part, it is easier and better to know, learn, and understand the people’s perspectives who have experienced an SDE or NDE once in their lifetime because nobody can explain better if there is a role of spirituality in an SDE.
Don't be so certain God doesn't exist. I'd 💯 share your opinion but've been doing extensive reading & research into Near & Shared Death Experiences, Reincarnation etc

A spiritual force def exists but doesn't intervene.
Apparently there's a meaning to our existence, to learn.
Spiritual awakening has been reported after experiencing an SDE, even when the person wasn’t spiritual before. In short, it can be said that being a spiritual person does not affect the occurrence of an SDE but after experiencing an afterlife phenomenon, becoming spiritual and starting to believe in strange phenomena has nothing to do with believing in God or being spiritual or not. It’s just we get to have a fresh start and get new perspectives to look at things from a different angle, in which we can say that things like SDEs surely exist, and believing is the first ladder to the path of spirituality.

Role of Religion in SDEs
Frankly speaking, people’s opinions and faith vary in every aspect and so it is in case of spirituality and SDE. Many people after experiencing an SDE or NDE found a way to spiritialism or became more spiritual or a believer, another question arises, which is almost similar to spirituality.
Just like believe who think that being a spiritual person can sometimes results in having an SDE, several people also believe it can be a part of particular religion. However, SDEs are merely an afterlife-like phenomenon and it can occur to anyone despite whether you are a spiritual person or not. It is exactly similar for religion.
Experincing an SDE has nothing to do with from belonging to a particular religion. Any phenomena can occur to anyone because they aren’t certain or pre-defined. Whether you belong to Christinity, Buddhism, Islam, Hindusim, etc, religions does not affect it.

People are certain about their beliefs, whether they are spiritual or a religious fanatic, but SDEs do not depend on both. And that’s why after going through an SDE, people perhaps start to believe in after-life things – an enigma if you call it.
