To increase this quantity of gratitude journaling, firstly understand that whatever you write reflects your condition of what you are going through, the more negative things you write, the more negativity you’ll attract, so why not fill your journal with some positivity as well?
Instead of being annoying and demanding, it’s a better choice to be grateful for the things you have and also share them with your buddy journal – and I guess this idea behind Gratitude journaling must have come from here. So, moving on, I am sharing some excellent techniques to write a gratitude journal that will surely transform your perspective positively.
1. Focus on all the positive things you have in your life
Firstly, a gratitude journal mainly focuses on all the positivity or positive things that you have in your life, so it won’t be wrong to say that you are forbidden to write your negative thoughts here. So, try to reflect on the good things and positive sides that you have. Also, you don’t always need to think of bigger things as you can easily find gratitude in little good things that you always go through, for instance, having a great circle of loyal friends, or people who make you smile always, and so on.
2. Analyze 4-5 things for which you are grateful
However, after thinking, now is the time to analyze what things actually make you happy every day and for which you are extremely grateful that you would never want to leave or lose those things behind in your life. So, analyzing 4 to 5 things will help you find an extreme sense of positivity and gratitude in your life that you will no longer feel helpless or pathetic in your life.

3. Start using prompts
If you still can’t decide – where to start gratitude journaling, taking help from the gratitude journaling prompts is a great idea to help yourself. Prompts are merely a few questions that will obligate you to think about the grateful things you have around you. For example, prompts can ask you to think differently like – “what are the two things that make me happy every day or what have you done this month that you are proud of and feeling encouraged?”. Asking questions like these will surely help you focus on the grateful side of your lifestyle.

5. Do not judge your journal entries
Journals are written with heart and they reflect the situation that you’ve been through during a certain phase or day. So, I would recommend writing a great and authentic gratitude journal, whatever the feelings and thoughts roaming around your mind just put them as it is into your journal and forget about judging them later – Also, I guess, this is what a journal is made for.
