Skateboarding is one of the most thrilling activities that comes with its challenges as well as triumphs. As a beginner skateboarder, there are many things to learn and a long way of practicing that any new skateboarder must go through. However, many people must have tried skateboarding in their teenage. But, due to different circumstances – personal or professional, people often have to leave a few things behind but that doesn’t mean you can’t start it again.

So, I have brought a few pieces of advice for people who are looking to relearn skateboarding, which are mentioned below.

1. Make the latest skateboarding tutorials your friend

You might have into skateboarding in an era, from which time has evolved a lot. If you are returning to skateboarding in your 30s straight after your teenage, you might not realize but it has been more than ten years, which means your skateboard, style, and techniques of skateboarding, and even the ramps have evolved too much. So be prepared to encounter everything in a new way. At this time, what you can do is gather knowledge and study new styles through online or offline skateboarding tutorials. It will help you become familiar with the new techniques and styling.

2. Skateparks have been more developed

In the last ten years or even just five years, skateparks have evolved a lot. You may not find everything the same as before. People are more focused on skateboarding on roads and streets, so the designers of skateparks manufactured them based on themes of roads and streets. Also, each skatepark doesn’t need to have a transition section anymore like before, so it’s time for you to be ready to understand everything from scratch.

3. Do not take skateboarding lightly

Even if you have practiced skateboarding during your teenage a lot or have been a master in skateboarding, if you are returning after five or ten years without practicing, then you can’t take skateboarding lightly at all. It would be better to take yourself as a newbie who knows the basics but requires practice. Skateboarding is a risky activity that if not performed properly, you may fall from a decent height and can majorly hurt yourself which might become a regret for an entire lifetime. So, do not take skateboarding lightly at all.

4. Be careful about your body

The most prominent part to remember here is that your body is not as young as a teenager like before. Everything needs time to get used to, and so do your body parts. With the increasing age, the healing power of the body decreases. So, even if you are returning to learn skateboarding again, it’s time to understand the flexibility and strength of your body and need to be extra cautious with everything.

5. You may not find your favorite brands anymore

No need to be sad or upset, but, indeed, you may not find your favorite skateboard brands anymore but there is still a range of new options available in the market with advanced or evolved settings. And you can still get one of your choice to practice and who knows if it becomes your favorite!
