The highly anticipated film ‘Ajmer 92’ will be releasing in theatres this July. This film is based on real-life incidents.
It depicts the narrative of up to 250 girls who were detained, sexually victimized, and tortured by the Ajmer Dargah’s guardians in Ajmer, Rajasthan, in 1992.
Moreover, those guardians were not common men; instead, some of them were powerful local men, and others were congressmen and politicians.

Releasing Date of the Movie
‘Ajmer 92’ will hit the theatres on July 14, 2023.
The release date of the hard-hitting film was announced on Twitter by a famous film critic Taran Adarsh on Friday, 26th May.

Cast of the ‘Ajmer 92’
The film features Sumit Singh, Zarina Wahab, Shalini Kapoor, Karan Verma, Sayaji Shinde, Manoj Joshi, Birjendra Kalra, and many more and this movie is managed by Reliance Entertainment in collaboration with U&K Films Entertainment, Little Crews, and Motion Pictures.
The Producer of the film Sushil Sachdeva said,
“We made this film so that the entire country knows what the young college girls had to go through. This is all we have tried to show the public.”
What was the Ajmer 1992 Scandal About?
It came out in 1992 that over 250 girls had been raped and tortured in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The incident spread through the local news paper ‘Navjyoti,” in which several obscene pictures were published.
Aside from this, an article was also published that spoke about the school pupil being harassed by the local gangs.
It began with Farooq Chishti, the former member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly grooming and raping one female. That minor was an alumni of Sophia Secondary School.
Additionally, he took objectionable pictures of the girl and blackmailed her to introduce other girls to him and later, those girls were also brutally raped.
Farooq Chishti was the head of the Ajmer Youth Congress.
Apart from Farooq, Nafis Chishti and Anwar Chishti were also present in his gang and one of them was the vice president, while the later was the joint secretary of the Ajmer Congress unit.
Numerous females were trapped, sexually assaulted, and blackmailed for years by Farooq and his gang. Although many powerful men with political connections were also present in his gang.
However, the main criminals were Khadims, the religious caretaker of the Ajmer Dargah and moreoevr this case was smothered by the police due to political pressure.
According to reports, many victims had committed suicide. Beside this, all the victims were mostly between 11 and 20 years old.
His gang kept expanding and adding more pain and agony to the females.
At first, this case was smothered by the police due to political pressure but gradually, police arrested several culprits in this case owing to the rapid spread of protests.
