Adipurush is an upcoming Bollywood movie, a Hindu mythological film based on the Ramayana, and is the story of the Hindu god Ram and his wife, the goddess Sita.
A thousand years ago, Ram (son of Dasrath) traveled to the island of Lanka to rescue his wife Sita and was been kidnapped by the devil king of Lanka, Ravan. Ram, King of Ayodhya, reached there with the help of Lord Hanuman’s army.
Lord Ram is known by many names, like Raghava, Dasrath Puttar, Ramchandra, Koshlendra, etc. However, in this film, the lead actor played the role of Lord Raghava.
Similarly, the goddess Sita is also known by many names in Hinduism. Such as Janki, Siya, Sita, etc. Thus, the lead actresses played the role of goddess Janki.
Trailer, Releasing Date, and Star Cast of the Movie
The trailer for the movie was released on May 9, 2023, in India as well as in 70 other countries. The film trailer was uploaded on the T-Series YouTube channel.
Additionally, it has already surpassed 65 million views in just eleven days and the film will be released in theatres this June 16, 2023, and also will be released in Hindi and Telugu, along with dubbed versions in three other languages.
Lead roles were played by the actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. Moreover, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, Sonal Chauhan, Devdatta Nage, and many more will also be seen in the movie.
The First Song of the Movie Adipurush Unveiled
On May 20, 2023, the makers of the most-awaited movie released its first song, titled “Jai Shree Ram. It had already spread all over social media and surpassed eleven million views in just eight hours.
Lead actress Kriti Sanon has also uploaded the song to her social media handle.
Additionally, she wrote the caption in Hindi,
” Mantro ki shakti ka Saar,
Bhakto ki Bhakti ka Saar,
Shri Ram ka naam hai Aprampar…”
Apart from Hindi, she wrote the caption in five more languages.
This song opens with the abduction of Kriti Sanon as Janaki. Where Prabhas as Raghava and Sunny Singh as Laxman prepares for war against the king of Lanka.
The music for the song is provided by Ajay and Atul and Manoj Muntashir Shukla wrote the lyrics to the song.
Kriti also praised the song after a few hours of its release. She also shared a video. Tap to see the video.

Controversies
A complaint was filed against the producer, director, and cast of the film to hurt the sentiments of Hindus. The first complaint was against inappropriately displaying characters of Hindu mythology in a film poster.
Netizens also raised questions about not wearing Janeu by the actors in the film. Which holds special importance in Santan Dharma.
Moreover, Saif’s appearance as Ravana in the film is also criticized by netizens. They criticized producers for making an Islamized Lankesh.
Thus, the film date was also postponed owing to these controversies. After all this criticism, Om Raut shared this on social media,
“Adipurush is not a film but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our Sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16th, 2023. We are committed to making a film that India will be proud of. Your support, love, and blessings are what keep us going.”
