1. The Alcohol Content In A Margarita

In this section, we will particularly talk about the alcohol content in a margarita. As we all already know, a margarita is not never a single drink to enjoy but a mix of at least three different components. One margarita contains approximately 1.5 to 2 shots of alcohol, which means 44 to 59 percent of alcohol.

As we have discussed, the margarita is a mixture of tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and triple sec. The alcohol content in a single margarita may also vary. Typically we use 1 to 2 shots of alcohol, some orange liqueur such as triple sac, and freshly squeezed lime juice. The triple sec is a little sweet in taste and the lime adds soreness to the drink. They both help to balance out the acidic nature of the tequila.

Apart from all the information you got from the above paragraph, it is important to know that alcohol can vary in a margarita in different restaurants and bars, etc. We can also customize this drink, as we can ask for more alcohol content and less alcohol content in it. It also depends on the size of the bartender’s shot to measure tequila. One more factor affects the alcohol content in a margarita and that is the size of the serving glass. If the bartender uses a small glass it will contain less alcohol but if the glass is large in size, it will take more alcohol to fill the glass.

2. How To Make A Traditional Margarita

A typical margarita also follows the rule of 2:1:1, which means two parts of tequila, one part of the triple sec, and one part of fresh lime juice. To prepare a margarita we need 1.5-2 shots of alcohol, that is 60 ml, 30 ml orange liqueur and 30 ml lime juice, and also some ice. The bartender adds these components to the shaker and shakes for 10-15 seconds then serves it in the glass.

It is certainly easy to prepare this drink in our homes too, as we would need the same ingredients. We can also control the smell of alcohol we want in our drink. If the amount of tequila will increase, the amount of orange liqueur and lime juice will also increase.

First, take one or two limes squeeze them on the plate, and take some salt in an utensil. First thing first, take a margarita glass, dip its rim in the lime, and then place it on the salt. This way the salt will stick to the rim of the glass. Salt can be really beneficial to balance the flavours of the drink.
