Diving into the world of fantasy literature gave me a break from reality, and eventually, it became my escapism to epic fantasy literature. Fantasy is a genre that not everybody is into, and maybe it isn’t meant for everyone, either.
However, many people like me still love fantasy literature, as it is the only thing that allows you to think beyond reality. So, what could be a better escape than this from reality? But as you begin something new, you eventually want to explore more about it, as I did.
I found that many people don’t consider choosing fantasy literature. But why not? I guess fantasy is complete literature set in an imaginative world, and so is fiction. After all, the tales behind many genres are fictitious and come from one’s imagination.
So, what makes fantasy different? One reason people misunderstand fantasy could be that we link every genre, from magic and supernatural creatures to fiction or unrealistic characters, all of which are just part of the imagination. So, it’s quite genuine to have confusion about fantasy literature. However, I completely agree that fantasy is literature.

There are no issues if people are confused about fantasy literature and don’t like to read it. As I said, fantasy tales are the perfect escape for me, so other people’s opinions didn’t affect my decision to read fantasy literature. So, if you are not interested, why get into the fantasy world when so many genres exist?
For me, an escape shouldn’t only be about reading; it could be any activity. If you have your escapism, even if it is not spending time reading fantasy literature, it’s ok! The ultimate goal is to find peace and enjoy what you do, which is essential, I guess!

Also, age shouldn’t be part of the discussion. Moving on, fantasy is not serious literature; if anybody thinks this way, it’s ultimately a misunderstanding. For me, fantasy is my imagination with some unrealistic creatures and unique stories that are often hard to believe, and it can be anything I can think of. From being full of comedy to living in the world of unicorns to having stories like Disney princess movies, everything is a part of fantasy, making you fall in love with fantasies.
Fantasy literature has no end of genres. It’s a vast platform of every genre, just like your imagination.
The first book I tried was “The Girl Who Chased the Moon” by Sarah Addison Allen. The story is full of warm love set up in a magical environment, and it’s not just about romantic love but different kinds of attachments. Since then, I have been reading Sarah Addison’s novels.

Also, one of the high fantasy fiction I read was “The Tyranny of Faith by Richard Swan.” It’s a complete blend of magic collide and action with an intriguing epic fantasy tale. If I had to recommend fantasy literature to someone, it would definitely be this one.
Though I’m still a newbie in the fantasy world, I have also read The Vampire Diaries book series, which is a great combination of supernatural and thriller genres shaped into fantasy literature. The first book of the series alone, “The Awakening,” will oblige you to go further.
