” I kind of view everybody like a rainbow. Everybody on the planet has all the colors of the rainbow inside. “

– Alexia Fast
When we were kids, we often thought the world was full of characters in either black or white. As we grew, we realized that no one is perfect – only grey characters exist. But, come to think of it, isn’t each person a rainbow? Can you define a person using just the color grey in this case? Is not man a rainbow? One of emotions, experiences, and beliefs?

Violet

Violet sparks imagination and inspiration. When we feel low, some things keep us from falling apart, let whatever it be. The darker tones of violet are associated with sorrow, bringing to mind the darker times one has gone through.

Also, violet symbolizes nobility – the sacrifices that one has to make in life. What is less appealing is that this color also represents the impractical and cynical side of a person.

Indigo

Indigo symbolizes wisdom, intuition, and self-mastery. It often refers to infinity. Don’t we sometimes feel proud of how certain wise decisions we took were? This color represents the more intelligent, intuitive, and passionate, inconsiderate, and fearful part of a person.

Blue

Blue stands for patience, trust, and loyalty. It is an embodiment of the peace and understanding that each person craves deep inside. The compassionate being inside a person is another thing that this color represents. Blue also stands for the deceitful, conservative, and emotionally unstable condition of a person.

Green

Green denotes growth, balance, health, and wealth. The prosperity and harmony that this color represents are what man strives for. It is the color of Mother Nature, and hence life itself. Green thus stands for the happier side of a person. Surprisingly, green also represents possessiveness, greed, and envy.

Yellow

Yellow, the color of sunshine itself, depicts clarity of thought, orderliness, and, most importantly, energy. The hope that one holds on to for going on with life. Yellow thus stands for the determination of a person, helping one to go on no matter what. However, yellow also represents one’s judgemental, pessimistic and cowardly side.

Orange

Orange portrays creativity, joy, playfulness, and youth. It represents the part of a person that helps to hold on to practicality. It stands for fascination and success. In addition, it also represents superficiality, insincerity, and excessive pride about oneself.

Red

Red is a dynamic color that embodies powerful emotions – love, courage, passion, vibrancy, and might. It is also widely known that red represents anger, brutality, and violence. Haven’t we all, at some time or the other, felt them? At other times, red has warned us to stay away from some things, to be careful.

A rainbow always looks beautiful, no matter in what space and time it comes. We are a combination of this rainbow, and that is why we are beautiful in our souls. All we need is to recognize that beauty.

Terri Windling, an author, once said that rainbows deliver this message to him – ” The universe is a mystery, and you’re part of it. Let us take pride in being the mysteries we are.”
