I was interested in baking from a young age, as I used to watch baking shows and YouTube videos. However, I did not start baking until much later in life. Ever since then, I have had an excellent hobby to turn to, or I can bake for birthdays and other events. And that personal touch is worth it!
Certain things are hard to bake, whereas others are straightforward. So, depending on what I want to bake, it can end well. Cakes and brownies are pretty straightforward, whereas pies are a nightmare. I still have not learned how to bake pies and can never get the crust right.
1. Brownies
I had always been around my mother in the kitchen when she used to bake cakes, and that also piqued my interest. The first thing I baked on my own was brownies! They were incredibly easy and tasted just as good! They were some of the best brownies I had tasted if I say so myself.
However, the second time I baked brownies, it did not turn out like the first. I still have no idea where I went wrong; after that, the brownies have always been good. Sometimes, even if you did well the first time, the second time can be not so great, which is okay!
2. Cakes
Although cakes are simple, we have tried many different ways to make them more interesting. One time, we put a layer of jello on top of the icing, and that was really good and also very pretty. However, the jello did not set too well, so once we cut it, it dripped down.
We also tried Oreo cake with coffee and Oreo coffee icing. Although it looked a little plain, it tasted good. However, my favourite cake is vanilla, with many white chocolate chips. The white chocolate chips taste slightly different after they are baked and go well with the soft vanilla cake!
3. Banana Cakes
Although banana bread is more popular, I like banana cakes more. They are much softer, and I have eaten more banana cake than bread. When you bake banana cake, your entire house smells like bananas, which is fantastic! I woke up because of the smell when someone baked banana cake! It is hard to mess up the banana cake, as the batter has never been too watery or thick.
Are you team banana bread or banana cake?

Now, these have been a nightmare for me to bake. I can never get the crust right. The dough looks like it is supposed to, but it starts breaking when I roll it out. So, the crust does not look like it should, but it tastes just as good! And I can tell you, Apple pies are one of the best-baked goods!
If you have just started baking, it is best not to try something as ambitious as pie, as you might lose your motivation. But even if you do, remember that many people find pies difficult, and the more you make them, the closer you are to perfection!
