Is it just a trend? That’s what I usually get from people when I tell them that I have been working towards attaining a minimalistic experience with my life. It’s only a while, you will outgrow it and all sorts of other reasons and explanations people have.
So, yes it is true upto an extent that sometimes decluttering is just a phase in life. You get that feeling that if one thing say your messed up wardrobe, or your crockery cabinet is cleaned up and reset it will actually help you get a new perspective. Obviously, it is a long shot; But will you deny it ?
My minimalism mindset is ruined by my “fussiness”

What I’m actually trying to emphasize here is different though. What I had in mind was not just decluttering the materials or things in my life. It is not like I am a hoarder, that for sometime I will stop buying, probably rearrange a few things, or dump a few others and move on.
What I was actually aiming at was getting physical and emotional declutter. Not just the material in and around your life but resetting your whole life too. Decluttering your thoughts and views about life.
I started just like everyone else does, by picking out my cutlery drawer and resetting everything. Counting the pieces and replacing any broken piece with a new one or better alternative. So, once I started with cutlery it started giving a little mental peace. Post that I moved to my shoes, clothes and other house rooms too.
Decluttering my whole life. Help with the next steps!

The big dilemma of decluttering our life.
by insimpleliving
This was all that was happening on the outside. Internally I started working out on my thoughts. I applied the minimalistic approach in my thinking also. It did bring a little roughness in a few relations but also the realisation that these were a little peripheral. So, it led to increased calmness within my mind and body.
This was a long process spread out over almost 8-9 months. I also started working out and eating clean. the whole idea of less is more started to make sense in all senses. It helped me declutter in ways that really made a difference.
My storage now does not seem overflowing or very little; instead it looks very organized. My supplies are always enough as I focus on consuming them in the most useful manner.
Similarly, my thoughts are streamlined, and so is my work life. I have better clarity when I wake up. I’m getting better at decision-making and can think things more thoroughly. Even my house looks more clean and bigger as all the trash or unnecessarily hoarded things have been removed.
All in all, it has been a great way to cleanse life in general, and I would recommend the same to anyone who is feeling very overwhelmed in life to follow the same!
