Regulations for Holding Assault Weapons
The United States has the highest ratio of guns to person in the whole world. The ratio is as high as 2.5 guns per person.
The use and possession of guns in the United States is governed by numerous federal laws. These laws are enforced by the ATF and state agencies. Each state, in addition, has its own rules and laws to regulate these laws.
The Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States gives rights to the citizen to hold and own arms and aims to provide provision for its citizen to own and hold arms that are not related to the military and police for self-defense.
A valid license for possession is, however, required for the same.
The rule, however, prohibits persons from holding firearms convicted of crimes punishable by imprisonment, drug addicts, mentally disturbed, immigrants, and convicted of domestic violence.
Assault rifles are banned in as many as 9 states in the country. Bills are presently being discussed in numerous states.
The citizens of the country are requesting the President of the United States to ban the Second Amendment and the possession of assault.
The POTUS called out the Congress to bring a bill for banning assault weapons.
