Many people go for a long run in the morning; some call themselves morning people because they wake up early and go for morning runs to stay fit and feel refreshed the entire day. I also love running in the mornings because I can feel the fresh, pollution-free air.
However, another reason I am a morning person is that I find myself more productive in the morning. Maybe it’s because my mind works swiftly in the morning after taking a run. Further, I was wondering if I could make my morning runs more fun so that, along with being refreshed, I can also feel energetic and joyful for the rest of the day. A few tips that I followed for my morning runs and found useful are mentioned below.
1. A 5-minute quick warm-up before striking walkways
Performing several light actions, including knee hugs, quick squats, and leg swings, is beneficial to warm myself up before going on morning runs. It lubricates my joints and improves the blood flow, which keeps me active and wakes me up correctly from the sleepy posture.

2. Getting a pair of comfortable sneakers with a decent cushioning sole
An ideal pair of sneakers minimizes the discomfort in feet while running. It’s better to choose sneakers that are comfortable enough not to give any blisters, a feeling of aching, or itching.

3. Focussing on an object while running to encourage myself
Focusing on an object is quite a practical long-run approach, especially when I’m not in the mood to run anymore or feel less energetic. This object can be anything in front of me: a pole, a signboard, or even a bench. I choose anything as my short-term goal, which I must reach, and then I choose another object as a goal to keep running. Sometimes, I start walking to reach my goal as a little break, then running after gaining energy!
4. Having an energetic rock running playlist to boost my mood
Whether I’m feeling sleepy or tired, nobody can stop me from running when I listen to my favourite tracks until there is a case of cramp or injury. Catching up with my favourite music in the morning is extraordinarily encouraging, and I think it’s a good motivation – isn’t it?

5. Wearing calf compression sleeves or thigh covers to prevent cramps
Calf compression sleeves and thigh covers are handy while you run. Due to the body movements, muscles of the legs and things expand and contract, which can sometimes lead to cramps or internal injuries. Compression sleeves keep my muscles intact and don’t let them make movements that contribute to preventing injury.
6. A little shift in my routine as a beginner/setting an earlier alarm
One of the causes of waking up late is my sleepy head, which doesn’t let me wake up early in the morning. As a beginner, I found it really a helpful tip. A little shift in my sleeping and morning routine significantly contributes to my morning runs. If I go to bed a little early then I often wake up in the morning before or during the sunrise, this makes my morning run even better.

I always find it a better approach to set 10-15 minutes earlier alarms that give me enough time to settle my lazy head in the morning.
I found these tips helpful, so I follow them; however, do you have any that can be added to this list?
