The trailer for “The Kerala Story” was published on April 26th, 2023 by the film’s creators. As it is based on a terror play, tells the story of Kerala’s missing girls, and raises concerns about religious conversion; the trailer of the film caught people’s attention shortly after its release and created quite a buzz and controversy in a short time.

Adah Sharma performed the leading role in the movie. Shalini Unnikrishnan is her name in the movie. In the teaser, it can be seen how her life changes from a daydream to a nightmare.
Following the publication of the trailer, this movie gets a lot of attention on social media but people also raised questions about the authenticity of the facts shown in the film.

On May 5, 2023, The Kerala Story has finally released in theatres all around the world.
It is now entirely prepared for public viewing. Well-known Suryapal Singh and Vipul Amrutlal wrote this movie while its screenplay was written by the Director of the movie Sudipto Sen.

It is a houseful in all the cinemas, which shows how much people are willing to see the narrative of missing girls shown in Kerala.
Is this Movie a Propaganda?
There are two sides to everything and so is this movie. In simple words people reacted in a variety of ways; some called it propaganda, while others found it to be eye-opening.
After getting hate comments like “fake story” and words like “propaganda”; in reply the lead actress Adah Sharma made a humble request to the netizens on Twitter to google two words; ISIS and Brides.
She tweeted,
“And for the few still calling #TheKeralaStory a propaganda film, saying these incidents do not exist even after watching testimonials of several Indian victims, my humble request, Google two words ISIS and Brides…maybe an account of white girls narrated to you might make you feel that our Indian movie is real”
Some people have been calling for the movie to be banned ever since the creators published the trailer and a few people have also raised questions about the authenticity of the number of missing Kerala women, which is 32,000(shown in the movie), who were forced and brainwashed to do a conversion.
On this, the director of the film, Sudipto Sen, tweeted,
‘They were three’ one was my sister, one was yours, and one was our neighbor’s sister”.
