Very few people know about the shared death experiences and have gone through it themselves. While many believe this phenomenon in the physical world, more people take it as a misconception or just another piece of one’s vision. And that’s fine, people usually don’t believe that they haven’t experienced themselves. However, even those who don’t believe are quite fascinated with this experience and have different insights about it.
Sure, these insights can rattle you in different ways as you’ll wonder if it is really a phenomenon or it’s true and if it’s true, what type of experience people get during this type of phase. This curious thinking brought me the idea to gather a few insights or stories of people who have experienced it themselves.
However, it’s quite genuine when you are attached to someone and are present at the time of their death, you are actually contributing to living their journey by feeling their pain, and here starts the shared death experiences.
Sometimes, some shared death experiences can leave people in trauma but in most cases, it’s an exceptional life experience that one can get in their entire lifetime. Death is genuine and it’s obvious that whoever has arrived on the Earth has to go someday. But, during this entire journey, the relationships we made with each other seem the purest to us and some bonds become even stronger making us want to be with our loved ones in good or bad or hard times leading to sharing similar experiences even if it’s death.
Death may take someone from us but it doesn't take the relationship we had with them. Those bonds, built on love, memories, and shared experiences, continue to live on. They evolve, taking on a new form which remain an integral part of our lives and our stories. pic.twitter.com/4jo67BrhD1

1. It’s about her daughter!
Nobody can feel more than sorry for other people’s loss, however, SDEs can happen to anyone, but it may be too late until people understand what they are going through. In 2014, a lady lost her husband and she was with her daughter when her daughter felt a shared death experience. At that time, they didn’t realize what was happening.
Even telling this story feels like shivering, it must have been tough when the mother and daughter discovered it. Her daughter had an experience with lifting a heavy earthly body and she burst into tears, the experience of this body was her father’s, and even though she has gone through this experience, it’s deplorable to say that they didn’t find out about his death till the very next day.
Nonetheless, SDEs are real but they can leave lasting impacts on a person’s mind and soul just like her daughter who recounted her dreams frequently and found her in a place where she was sitting quietly and chatting to someone who wasn’t even in the room. This could lead to knowing about afterlife experiences that a person has after death, which still sounds delusional but true, along with SDEs.

William Peters is a renowned researcher who is currently working on SDEs and his research is based on true incidents that have happened to the people whose loved ones died when they were physically away. His current research is based on 164 SDE accounts about people who have gone through shared death experiences.
An SDE is when a caregiver or loved one describes sharing in the transition of the dying to a benevolent afterlife. SDEs typically occur right around the time of death, to learn more about our research, visit us at https://t.co/EeHjaZmGMB pic.twitter.com/EroJNyuOC8

2. Exploring the Afterlife
Julie Levine is a social activist who helps the poor and needy. She never believed that god exists and if he does then why all this poverty and sadness is still around? However, things changed when she had a shared death experience with a friend whom she was with during a massive car incident with an 18-wheel truck.
She added in her experience that she didn’t know what was happening, the truck just hit her friend’s side and her neck snapped. She was with her all this time but didn’t realize she died, then somebody called 911 and rescuers found her unconscious while her breathing was on the line. Julie was transferred to a hospital in Kingston where she stayed for two weeks and then she went to surgery for 12 hours.

Even though she was unconscious, she experienced something unusual, which felt like a dream to her. She saw two eyes moving upside down and then suddenly there were three eyes, and it all felt like an alien, she couldn’t remember much but all she knew was that she had a shared death experience and until this time, she didn’t know that her friend has already died. However, she figured it out and came out to share her story about a shared death experience that made her believe in spiritualism and the realm of the afterlife.

3. When Things Seem to be Falling Apart – Literally.
The most baffling experiences are the ones that are felt beside a person during the death as some experiences may burst you into tears but some leave you shocked. It becomes difficult to decide what’s going on around you whether you should be happy that something unusual is happening to you or be frightened for whatever the heck and deadly moment you are in.
Shared Death Experience

He was with his grandma on a deathbed when he had this experience. It was a freaky moment when his grandma ate something after 10 days in a state where her body seemed falling apart due to dementia. It felt like her soul was leaving her body, the dark became darker and her eyes became even scarier.
When all this was happening, a sudden presence he felt of someone that looked like he was telling her to leave with him. The unexplainable feeling of the moment he felt along with his 4 family members present in the same room. However, they seemed to have nearly death experiences but what he went through was definitely a shared death experience that left his mind unconscious for a while.
