Bollywood celebrities often avoid getting married as it will affect their career. But many celebs, single or married, had indulged themselves in the experiences of parenthood by adopting children.
They have set an example for others by adopting orphan children and raising them as their own kids. Letโs take a look at them.
Bollywood Celebrities Who Took to Adoption
1. Raveena Tandon
Raveena Tandon adopted two girls when she was 21yrs old. She adopted Pooja and Chhaya as single mothers in 1995 when they were 11 and 8 years old, respectively.
Parenthood is a big responsibility, and Raveena completed it very well. Raveena looked after them single-handedly as she was not married at that time. After her marriage to Anil Thandani, she gave birth to two kids, Rasha, on 16 Mar 2005 and Ranbir, on 12 July 2007.
2. Sushmita Sen
The first Miss Universe of India, Sushmita Sen adopted two baby girls Renee in 2000 and Aisha in 2010. Sushmita never got married and raised the kids all by herself.
Recently her elder daughter Renee turned 18, and Sush wrote an adorable message for her on Instagram, considering herself lucky to be blessed with daughters.
3. Sunny Leone
Recently joining the list is the baby doll of Bollywood, Sunny Leone. This year, in July, Sunny, along with husband Daniel Weber, adopted a 21 months old girl Nisha from Latur village in Maharashtra.
The child was up for adoption for a long time and was rejected due to her dark skin color. Sunny and Daniel became proud parents for the first time after adopting her. After adoption, Kaur was added as the childโs last name.
4. Mithun Chakraborty
Mithun Chakraborty married Yoogita Bali in 1979, and they had three sons together. After the birth of their sons, the couple adopted a baby girl and named her Dishani Chakraborty.
She is the most favorite of Mithun among the four kids and is also dearly loved by her three brothers, Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Namashi Chakraborty, and Ushmey Chakraborty. She is often spotted accompanying her parents at family and film functions.
5. Subhash Ghai
Subhash Ghai, along with their wife Mukta Ghai, adopted daughter Meghna Ghai Puri who is now married to Rahul Puri. Subhash handed over and made Meghna President of the Whistling Woods International Institute, which Meghna manages with her husband. The couple also has a biological child Muskaan Ghai.
All of them set an example and inspire others as well to adopt a child who is in need of shelter.
