The Narendra Modi’s government on 27 May 2023 marked 9 years of yeoman service to the nation. It is to be noted that the BJP government was elected for the second time with an overwhelming majority in the 2019 elections.
Moreover, in these 9 years, the government has taken numerous bold steps which received nationwide criticism but its implementation brought out fruit.

Let us dive into the two biggest achievements of PM Narendra Modi on his Government and leadership in the last 9 years.
1. Abrogation of Article 370
Jammu and Kashmir have been an integral part of India since independence and the erstwhile princely state however was given special status through Article 370 of the Indian constitution.
Over a period of time, the development of the state and tourism was crippled by terrorism and internal disturbances.
Narendra Modi’s government abrogated Art 370 and reorganized the state into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 31 October 2019 and though implementation of the rules, required the government to take harsh steps such as the increased presence of armed forces, both union territories are reaping their benefits.

2. Vaccine Diplomacy
The world was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic which forced people to lock themselves into their houses.
With the invention of the vaccination, India manufactured its vaccination Covaxin and Covishield.
India undertook the greatest diplomatic action during this time – vaccine diplomacy. The vaccines were supplied to as many as 26 nations including small Caribean island nations.
This venture by the government was termed Vaccine Maitri.
The vaccine Maitri, therefore influenced the global image of the country.
Further, during the recent visit of PM Modi to Papua New Guinea, he was welcomed with a leg touch respect by the PNG prime minister.
Moreover, he was also awarded the highest civilian medal by PNG and Fiji in recognition of his aid during the COVID pandemic.
