Icy Tales is in conversation with Aastha Agarwal about her journey as a mom influencer so far.
Q) Can you tell us about yourself and your journey as a mom influencer? How did you get started and what motivated you to share your experiences with others?
Aastha Agarwal – I was born and brought up in Jaipur. I have done my graduation and post-graduation from Delhi University. I love to read, listen to music and see fun parenting content. All of this comes very naturally to me. I love sharing what has worked for me with others. This started after my postpartum phase in which there is isolation for 45 days after you deliver a baby to take care of the baby and to recover.
I being very ambitious wanted to do something. I was suffering from postpartum depression. So to get out of it, I came across a few mom bloggers who were already posting content on Instagram.
When I realized that this was something, I am good at and all need was a phone and this is how this journey started.
Q) What are some of the key topics or themes you cover in your content? Why do you think these topics are important for your audience?
Aastha Agarwal – I cover fun parenting moments because parenting does not need to be taken as a headache or something to be stressed about. It is something to be taken as fun. I also share informative parenting content.
Q) How has being a mom influencer impacted your own personal growth and development? Have there been any unexpected benefits or challenges that you’ve encountered along the way?
Aastha Agarwal – Being a mom influencer requires a lot of confidence and being outspoken, as well as being out there. All of these have groomed my personality because I make sure to be at my best.
Q) Can you share a particularly touching or heartwarming interaction you’ve had with one of your followers? How did that experience make you feel and reinforce your purpose as a mom influencer?
Aastha Agarwal – I like sharing a lot of hacks. I recently shared a hack for kids who do not prefer eating vegetables. It was about how mothers or the parents can add vegetables to rice, dough, or anything. So one of the followers messaged me that these things have worked for her and these hacks made her child eat vegetables. I was happy that my hacks are also working and helping for others.
Q) Balancing work and family can be challenging for any mom, but as a mom influencer, you have additional responsibilities. How do you manage your time and ensure that you’re able to give both your family and your online presence the attention they deserve?
Aastha Agarwal – It becomes challenging when there is no help at home. But when there is help for other things it becomes a lot easier. My family is very supportive of the work I do. They help in taking care of my daughter, Linasha sometimes or anything related to the work I do.
Sometimes I ask them to be involved in my videos and they are always up for it. So they are always supportive and this is how it becomes easier for me.
Q) Have there been any difficult moments or personal struggles that you’ve had to face as a mom influencer? How did you overcome them, and what advice would you give to other moms who may be going through similar challenges?
Aastha Agarwal – Yes, there have been a lot of challenges. First is the Instagram algorithm, it keeps changing from time to time. Now, my daughter, Linasha is a grown-up but when she was little it was difficult to create content when she was around, she always demanded me to be there.
I live in a joint family and creating content was always a challenge to me. So I always set a time to shoot content whenever my family does not needs me to be around.
Q) Motherhood, is a full-time job but mothers are not appreciated enough. Do you think it is true? If yes, how can we bring a change?
Aastha Agarwal – I think we should not seek out appreciation from others. We should be self-motivated. we should be happy around our kids and not seek happiness from others.
Q) What would you suggest mothers to do on how to build a strong relationship with their children?
Aastha Agarwal – I think one should be calm, when around your children. If you are angry and agitated around them, they would not feel comfortable opening up to you. Only if you are calm around them, only then they can trust you and open up about things to you. This way they will not fear you shouting at them.
Q) What is the one parenting mantra that you believe in?
Aastha Agarwal – Enjoy parenting and do not take it as stress. Every day cannot be a good day, even if you do not feel good, you need to incorporate things like meditation and be calm. This is what has worked for me.
Q) Who is the biggest supporter in your journey?
Aastha Agarwal – My biggest supporter has been my husband. He keeps suggesting me things that I can incorporate into my work. Whenever I have any problem, I go to him and he gives me great suggestions for that.
Q) What are your long-term goals as an influencer?
Aastha Agarwal – My long-term goal is to continue doing Instagram influencing but I want to expand to YouTube also. I want to expand my genre and attend more events, get more features, etc.
Aastha Agarwal believes that motherhood is a precious journey and should be made fun and enjoyable. It is important to create a healthy bond with the children by showing that they can trust you. One should not take parenting in a negative way but should find ways to enjoy it.
