BAFTA AWARDS 2022: The 75th British Academy Film and Television Awards were hosted in March of 2022 and were hugely successful!!
The ceremony was held in London at the Royal Albert Hall, an annual award event celebrating the best of British and International films. In the same hall, the Royal British Legion Festival takes place.
It was broadcasted on British television channels such as BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC OneHD.
Originally known as the British Film Academy, the Academy became The British Academy Film and Television Awards(BAFTA) in 1976.
The British film industry has offered the world some of the best films and stories.
The BAFTA awards celebrate the writers, actors, directors, and other creatives involved in bringing stories to life.

The Best Film
THE POWER OF THE DOG by JANE CAMPION, IAIN CANNING, ROGER FRAPPIER, EMILE SHERMAN, and TANYA SEGHATCHIAN was nominated for the best film out of all of the other films that were selected:

Outstanding British Film

ENCANTO by JARED BUSH, YVETT MERINO, BYRON HOWARD, and CLARK SPENCER was nominated for the Best Animated Film. The film is a story about a Colombian family and addresses issues relating to trauma through beautiful picturization of South American culture and musicality. The other nominations were:

Best Original Screenplay
LICORICE PIZZA, written by PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON, winner of the best original screenplay, this movie follows the journey of the relationship of a young couple. The other nominees were:

Best Adapted Screenplay
CODA, written and directed by SIAN HEDER, won the BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY AWARD. The other nominations are as follows:

Best Film Not in the English Language
DRIVE MY CAR, directed by RYUSUKE HAMAGUCHI and TERUHISA YAMAMOTO, was the non-English language winner. It follows the story of a theatre director grieving the sudden death of his wife. The other nominees were:

Best Director
JANE CAMPION, director of “The Power of the Dog” movie, took this award home. The film also earned the best film award bagging Campion two film awards. The other amazing nominees were:

SUMMER OF SOUL (…OR, WHEN THE REVOLUTION COULD NOT BE TELEVISED) won the “Best Documentary” award and was the debut of AHMIR “QUESTLOVE” THOMPSON. Ahmir is a musician and a member of the band ‘THE ROOTS.’ The Documentary portrays the Harlem Cultural Festival, which took place in 1969. The other documentaries that were nominated are as follows:

Best Casting
WEST SIDE STORY received the award for best casting. The award was received by CINDY TOLAN, the movie’s casting director. The other nominees were:

Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer
THE HARDER THEY FALL, an American film, won the award for OUTSTANDING DEBUT BY BRITISH WRITER, DIRECTOR, and PRODUCER. JEYMES SAMUEL AND BOAZ YAKIN received the award. James is a British music producer and filmmaker. This was his first film in which he played the writer, director, and producer roles. The other nominees are as follows:
