How can you prepare for the Cisco 300-208 exam?
There are numerous ways of how you can prepare for this certification test. For example, you can take the Implementing Cisco Secure Access Solutions (SISAS) course. You can never know what topics will be included in the exam, but the two topics most commonly represented in the practice tests that can be found online are:
- Identity Management Architectures
- Identity Management/Secure Access
These two topics cover as much as two-thirds (67%) of the 300-208 exam, meaning that approximately 40 questions will come fromthese areas. Our analysis shows thatthe third most common topic represented in the exam is Threat Defense Architectures (approximately 17% of questions touched upon this topic). So, when preparing for the exam, pay extra attention to these three topics.
There are so many training materials available online. The best ones are those found on the official Cisco website. However, be prepared to learn a lot if you want to pass the exam with flying colors.
For instance, the recommended training materials for the second topic of the exam (Identity Management/Secure Access) consists of 1,115 pages. Can you imagine it? This is really a lot, and many individuals will probably not have sufficient time to read all of this. Another topic (Identity Management Architectures) is discussed on almost 700 pages. So, in total, you will have to read around 2,000 pages just to be prepared for 67% of the exam questions.
You don’t have to use only the training materials recommended by Cisco if you think you will not be able to read 2,000 pages, what is definitely a difficult task. There are plenty of other trainings available online, and many of them are created by seasoned Cisco experts. For example, you can buy practice tests that will certainly help you in preparing for the 300-208 certification exam. They are not very expensive but may improve your results considerably.
However, if you have enough time, the best way to go is to read all the training materials recommended by Cisco, as only this can guarantee that you will pass the exam and receive the credential.
What to do if you fail the exam?
If you fail the certification exam, but you think you had enough correct answers to pass it, then you can surely ask for a test revision as Cisco allows it. However, if you still do not reach the passing scoreafter a revision, you will have to retake the exam. There are certain rules that you should know about:
- If you fail your Specialist, Associate, or Professional exam, you will have to wait for at least five calendar days before you can take the test again.
- If you fail CCDE or CCIE, you should wait for fifteen calendar days, before making another attempt.
Your scores will be determined by using the statistical analysis of Cisco, and you will receive a score report within few days after you complete the exam. These score reports are not published online. Note that the digital photo you provide before the test is displayed on your certificate, so ensure that it is recent and of high quality.
Once you pass the exam, you can enclose the certificate when applying for a job and you can be sure that getting the position that you have been dreaming of will not take long, as the credentials issued by Cisco are well-known in the IT sphere.
