Assume a war has broken out or a natural disaster, and you only have the time to pack a few fundamental things. What will you consider taking? Your mobile phone, laptop, charger, some food?
Well, I have prepared this list of gadgets that will save your life during an emergency.
Solar Charger
No one in this generation can survive even an hour without a phone or laptop. These gadgets have become indispensable, and it would be best to carry a charger that charges multiple devices simultaneously and uses renewable energy sources like solar energy to charge your gadgets. This way, you can stay in touch with your loved ones, have access to all your contacts, and use your phone to read or browse anything you wish.
Portable Water Purifiers
These are not the regular contraption water purifiers you use in your home to purify water but a modified version that uses UV light to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and parasites harmful to the body. At times of critical disasters, the availability of drinking water is the biggest problem. With these portable water purifiers, it should not be a problem.
Rechargeable Flashlights and Headlamps
A power cut customarily follows a disaster, and you will probably not have power sources for a few days proceeding the calamity. When the sun goes down, it is dangerous to stay without any lighting in the neighborhood. These flashlights will act as a primary source of light and keep you safe. I prefer LED lights as they consume less power and LiPo batteries as they live longer.
Ear Protection
In the case of bombing or heavy noise environments, your reflexes are suppressed by the loud sounds, and you may end up deaf. It is best to have ear protection such as Altus Brands’ Pro Ears that cover your ears to prevent this. This gadget lets you hear normal sounds, but if the intensity of sound is greater than 70 decibels, it is automatically reduced to half.
BioLite Stove
Food is the only source of energy for humans. So take a stove with you for cooking conventional and processed foods. I know that stoves are pretty big and difficult to handle, and that’s why I suggest a BioLite stove. These stoves are portable and are approximately the size of a water bottle, and weigh only two pounds. As the name suggests, biomass fuels up these stoves. You can use BioLite CampStove or HomeStove to boil water in less than 5 minutes. As a bonus, you can even charge your devices with this awesome gadget.
Disaster Relief Toilet
One of the most important tools you require during calamities is this catastrophe relief toilet. People do not find places to dispose of their own wastes during these calamities, which is horrid. To escape this situation, it is advised to carry this portable toilet. It can be easily assembled and dissembled with a knife or a coin. It has a waste-disposal system that includes an easily removable cart and a biodegradable drawstring bag.
You can also take waterproof bags to protect your mobile phones and laptops, a spare phone that only allows calling but lasts for months without charging, a radio for communication that can update you regarding the disaster, and water bottles.
