In her conversation with Icy Tales, Medha spoke about her venture, opinions on karma, and her views on Vedic astrology.

Q) Tell us something about your venture Tender Wisdom.

Medha: Tender Wisdom was a name suggested to me years ago by someone very close. It came out of a suggestion I got regarding if I were to start a business or if I were to have a brand of my own ever then what it would be known as. The person who suggested it has a knack for offering names to many people.

It happened about 15 years ago when I was still more or less a kid with no idea what business I would be doing. But I feel like the power of the name was so much that it just stuck with me and made me resonate with myself.

The essence of a person remains with that person from the very beginning, and I’ve seen this myself because I believe the core and soil we all need stay with us.

Tender Wisdom resonated then, and I think it still resonates with me. I am sure it will continue to resonate with me in the future as well.

I’m very soft-spoken. I always put my point forward in a very gentle but wise manner. I think this is a quality I carried from childhood till now, and I feel like now I’m doing astrology consultations for people, which is all about cosmic wisdom; it’s not my wisdom, it’s just the wisdom that the cosmos gives us.

I think I say things very gently to people without scaring them but just being wise. This is still staying with me and works well for me because of the work I do. That’s how Tender Wisdom started, and this is where I am now.

Q) What is it like to be a Vedic Astrology Teacher?

Medha: It is joyful because I’m thrilled to be doing what I’m doing, and I think I’m extremely lucky and privileged to be able to wake up every day and do something I adore.

Despite the challenges that today’s age is facing, Vedic astrology is still something that’s catching up with the world.

I know the world is inclined towards astrology in a very pop culture manner. All thanks to social media because everybody’s put these pop culture words out there. The Vedic astrologer is on a different planet altogether because it has a lot of maths, to begin with, so no matter how pop culture-ish a Vedic astrologer can sound, at the end of the day, we’re just doing a lot of numbers.

As glamorous as it may seem from the outside, I think it’s a lot of hard work on the inside. On some days, I feel that it’s pretty gruesome on my energy levels also because, daily, I’m just speaking to people who have some issues; it’s almost like being a therapist.

It’s an intense profession because you’re dealing with real people and their highs and lows. It can impact you a lot as much as you’re influencing other people.

For me, it’s been a humbling journey being a Vedic astrologer. But the whole thing comes with a lot of responsibilities, so I will quote a dialogue from a movie named Spider-Man here- “With great power comes great responsibility”.

Q) What is it like to be an Empowerment and Transformation Coach?

Medha: As I mentioned earlier, my work is very intense because I come across a lot of people who are unsure about the direction in which they’re going. It could also be because of issues like the loss of a family member or even self-esteem. These sensitive things leave a significant impact on people.

Being that coach for them is equally intense because I have to explain the situation and give them a solution. I remember this quote from a renowned author- Simon Sinek, who mentions that in a bookstore, we have a significant section for self-help but lacks a section focusing on helping others.

That is very important because, as a society, we have never been taught how to help somebody. Thanks to astrology, as that has been my base, it allows me to look in-depth into the person to figure out what their journey has been like. This way I can empower them because I can see where they are right now.

The journey simplifies when you go to an astrologer because you put your horoscope in front, and the astrologer can point out exactly what you’re feeling.

It will give you a lot of comfort because it’s a stranger saying things to you that you’re going through. I think this also gives me an advantage as an empowerment coach as a healer because I’m able to hit the nail on the head and gain their trust.

The whole point of being an empowerment coach is figuring out and helping people find their true purpose in life. I believe in the core intelligence of people because I already know who they are, where they want to be, and what decisions they have to make. Once they feel seen, they feel empowered, and they slowly work on their self-esteem, and I work on their issues.

I guide them in the right direction. After that, they automatically pick themselves up and are ready to go in the right direction. They will not feel lost because they will find the true purpose of their lives. They would realise they have a purpose, which is the empowering part at the end!

Q) What is something that you admire the most in your profession?

Medha: It is an extremely transformative process for me because I am talking to strangers daily and helping them out through a horoscope. This way, I am resonating with everything that’s being said and it becomes very humbling for me.

People realize that there is a personal power around. Still, my journey as an astrologer has been extremely transformative because I have got constant reminders that we’re all beautifully connected and taking care of each other. I’ve seen such magical stories because every client I’ve spoken to has something great to offer.

I have had clients from all walks of life, whether privileged, celebrities, politicians, or anyone in the industry. It didn’t matter to me because they all have some concerns. You don’t have a choice in life; it has to be a very simple, humble approach, or else it is not going to be nice.

No matter how much we are seek our desires,  the whole journey comes about in a circle because the learning is in your path. I would also like to quote Jim Terry, who said in one of his interviews, “I wish everybody gets money and fame in this world, so much that they cannot fathom how much they’ve got. This will make you realize that these things are not the answer to happiness in your life.”

I have seen this from experience that they’re all seeking something no matter who it is, and that seeking ends only when you walk through the spiritual path.

I’m not saying you need to be a monk, but it’s about making simpler, softer, and tender choices in life that are leading you on a spiritual path. I think that’s been the most amazing part of my journey because I am privileged in many ways.
