The BJP led Uttar Pradesh will be celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday in nearly 130 government-run primary schools in his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi. The students will be given lectures by various party leaders on the numerous public welfare schemes and achievements of the government. The students will also be provided gifts, sweets and stationery items.
Since Modi’s birthday falls on Sunday the party members have decided to celebrate the birthday on Saturday. BJP’s Varanasi Mahanagar president Pradeep Agrahari said that
There are 26 manual units in Varanasi constituency and PM’s birthday will be celebrated at 5 primary schools in each unit. He also clarified that as these are government-run schools, no permission is required to hold these celebrations.
Local BJP leaders said that they are very much confidence, that they will be able to organise this celebration without any obstacle. On 17 September, all the party workers will take part in cleanliness drive. It will be compulsory for all the workers to clean all the crossings in Varanasi during the day. In the evening, about 70 earthen lamps will be lit at all crossings.
Also, free medical camps will also be organised for the students as well as for the staff. The party’s women workers will take the responsibility of the decorating 67 ghats and float the earthen lamps in the Ganga. On 16 September, a cultural programme based on the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme will be organised at Assi Ghat.
