If youโre a die-hard anime fan or even an otaku-in-progress, there are high chances that youโve come across Kohei Horikoshiโs My Hero Academia for sure.
First aired on April 3, 2016, this shounen anime has enraptured the hearts and souls of millions of people around the world. With its sturdy character development and remarkable art style, My Hero Academia successfully became popular even before the anime, when its manga made its debut with Shounen Jump on 7 July 2014. But aside from that, the prime reason why this series is so loved is because of the ample My Hero Academia female characters as well as male characters present in the series that are surprisingly relatable and unique in their own way.
The story revolves around a quirkless boy, Izuku Midoriya, with a hero name โDeku,โ whose entire goal in life is to become just like the No.1 hero, All Might, whom he admires the most. Although, there are a lot of characters who contribute to the plot growth other than the protagonist himself. Despite the heaps of male solid characters with flashy quirks, there are a lot of powerful female characters who are equally resourceful and commendable in their hero jobs and in general.
From a high-ranking pro hero to cute-but-psycho villains, hereโs a list of some of the fansโ favorite My Hero Academia female characters whoโve indeed left an impact on the story, which is worthwhile. So, letโs dive into each of my hero academia females.
1. Eri
If thereโs a female character in My Hero Academia who is adored by almost all the cast and fanbase, itโs Eri. Undoubtedly, this cute little red-eyed girl managed to melt the hearts of many despite being introduced a lot later in the series.
Out of all the female mha characters, Eri first appeared in Season 4, where she was seen being manipulated by her foster father, Chisaki Kai, a.k.a. Overhaul, which is a given as she possesses a highly indomitable quirk that allows her to rewind anything in time. Be it a mere injury or the whole existence of a human being. Her ability was being misused by making a potent drug in the form of Quirk-destroying Bullets.
Regardless of a poor childhood, Eri is an emotionally intelligentย and kind-natured girl who loves to help others. Later, she was also shown helping Deku in the fight. Sheโs sure to grow into a notable and inspiring girl among other My Hero Academia female characters and female heroes.
2. Nana Shimura
Being the seventh wielder and the only user of One For All, Nana Shimura was the former master of the worldโs strongest hero, All Might, and has a special place in the series that is worshipped, even by hero academia fans. Her quirk โFloatโ allows her to levitate in mid-air effortlessly.
Although having a mediocre original quirk in contrast to other My Hero Academia female characters, Nana efficiently paired it with One For All. Her contributions were luminary throughout the series, even to her grandson, Tomura Shigaraki, who is the head of the League of Villains. Her lack of presence significantly impacted her household, but in her eyes, she was protecting her family from the wrath of All For One after the tragic death of her husband.
She was a great ally and close friend of Gran Torino, who trained All Might after her death. This lady was a body figure whose inspiring words and teachings were carried forward by All Might very well, especially in building an unbreakable faith in the hero character with an ever-smiling face.
3. Tsuyu Asui
When it comes to Class 1-A, thereโs no doubt that all the students have proven their potential on the path to being pro heroes. The one thing that sets them aside from other classes is their skillful teamwork. Tsuyu Asui is one of the major My Hero Academia female characters who uses her frog-like body and aptitudes with great flair and supports her fellow classmates in close as well as long-range battles.
Along with her heightened underwater abilities and her elongated tongue that can hold or swing things up to five times her weight, Froppy can also make herself almost invisible by camouflaging herself, making her more frog-like. She can even secrete mucus with various effects, such as paralysis and itching.
Apart from this, her intellect and honesty allow her to stay collected even in the most challenging situations. Tsuyu is everybodyโs best friend and support, making her a comforting woman character amid other My Hero Academia female characters.
4. Nejire Hado
Nejire Hado is one of the members of the Big 3 at U.A and a student of class 3A, excelling in academics along with her splendid hero run. But what sets this girl aside from other heroes is her welcoming nature and immense desire to save those in need, making her a perfect role model for other female heroes and a favorite of many fans and all the My Hero Academia female characters.
She effectively uses her quirk โWave motion,โ which allows her to shoot spiral shockwaves of energy, making her a perfect asset for fighting over long distances. She can even surpass the abilities of some of the professional heroes.
Besides her impeccable performance in the hero internship and her ever-curious nature, Nejire is a lady known for her alluring beauty and charming looks. She was seen competing in the Miss Con Beauty Pageant and many characters, including Itsuka Kendo from Class 1 b.
In theย Shie Hassaikai arc, she worked under pro hero Ryukyu with enthusiasm and determination while helping Ochako and Tsuyu in the team battle.
5. Kyoka Jiro
Kyoka Jiro is one of the leading My Hero Academia female characters in the series, whose quirk โEarphone Jackโ might be the ideal one for many fans in real life. Her ear lobes are extended with two chords at the end, which can be further elongated, enabling her to release vibrations as she may not be the most suitable girl to fight in a close battle.
Despite having a skinny body, she can come off as a very resourceful hero with her sharp and acute senses. By plugging her earphone jacks into a surface, she can hear even the minor sounds from far distances, making her highly beneficial in spying and tracking operations.
She is on her path to becoming a promising pro hero, even in the Hero Work-Studies, where sheโs paired with Shoji under Gang Orca. She might seem a little lukewarm compared to other my hero academia female characters. Still, her unenthused demeanor should not be confused with her social skills, as there are many occurrences showing her inner sensitive side.
Like her family, she has a knack for music which she showcased at the sports festival with all the class 1 A students, despite being insecure about it. Her vocal and instrumental talent was a big surprise for her class and all the hero academia fans.
6. Ochako Ururaka
From a highly advantageous quirk to an incredible resolution to save others, this hero-in-process is one of the main characters in the manga and anime to boot, and might also be one of the bnha female characters who got more screen time than other women heroes. She is the most attractive woman in the show.
Ochako Ururaka has been tied with Deku since the beginning of the anime and can be seen as a love interest later in the series. While overcoming her weakness, she is mastering her quirk impressively along with other girls in her class. With Zero Gravity, she can make anything float by nullifying the effects of gravity, giving a perfect hero name, โUravity.โ
Sheโs a cheerful, optimistic, and bubbly girl from a poor background who might not seem like a capable hero among other My Hero Academia female characters. But with her strong sense of justice, combined with her gun head martial arts and money-driven goal, she is the most formidable hero out of all the other girls, making her the best girl among all hero academia fans.
In the Joint training arc, she actively participated in defeating class 1 b by showing her quick thinking and teamwork under Ryuku too.
7. Himiko Toga
Who says that the best My Hero Academia female characters have to be pro heroes or students in training? Hailing from the League of Villains, Himiko Toga is one of the girls who are equally loved by almost all the hero academia fans.
A villain is not initially born but made that way by some devastating circumstances. The toga was considered a bright and cheery girl, but what made her that way was her blood-thirsty quirk. She can transform into anyone as long as she has ingested their blood.
Later in the story, there is a growth spurt in her quirk development as she manages to copy the appearance and the quirk. Her personality can be categorized as a little sadistic, with her vampire-like tendencies due to her profound desire to make friends can be countered by her craving to kill them. Although she also shares a sensitive bond with her friend and comrade, Twice.
8. Ryuko Tatsuma
Dragon Hero โRyukuโ is known for her modesty and benevolence. She is the apt definition of being a lady boss who stands tall among other male heroes and a selfless pro hero who doesnโt think twice while taking charge. Her caring side can be seen in the Shie Hassaikai Arc and Endeavour Agency Arc, as she is respectful and considerate of the capabilities of her interns, Uravity, Froppy, and Nejire.
She has superhuman speed and durability with a brilliant grip on her quirk. Including her sharp teeth, claws, and wings, she can do almost everything a body of a dragon can do. Although, what made her stand out amid all the My Hero Academia female characters was her physical abilities and her charming appearance, with a long pixie bob and a claw headband. Ryuko is No. 10 in the current pro hero rankings, following up after Rumi Usagiyama and Best Jeanist.
9. Inko Midoriya
Well, all the My Hero Academia female characters donโt need to be pro heroes to play a vital role in the series. Inko Midoriya is among those women who have greatly impacted the story through their virtuous upbringing and contribution to the character growth of Izuku Midoriya, her son and the main protagonist.
Her motherly and caring nature can be seen right from the first episode, as she supported her child wholeheartedly, even when he was quirkless. There were some instances when she didnโt allow Izuku to move to the U.A dormitories as she was concerned for his safety, seeing that her child repeatedly had near-to-death experiences. Be it in the forest training camp or throwing his life just to rescue Bakugo.
From the identical green hair and eye color to the exact habit of bawling their eyes out very often, this mother and son pair truly share an immeasurable bond between them. Inko has fulfilled the duties of a mother very well, and her role in the series is no less than a true hero.
10. Midnight
Nemuri Kayama, best known by her hero name โMidnight,โ was a Modern Hero Art History teacher at U.A High School and other pro heroes like Eraserhead and Present Mic.
She was a lady who was not only thinking about the improvement of her students but also an evenly brilliant and quick-witted female cast. With her quirk, Somnambulist, she produces a type of aroma that can make anyone sleep by just catching a whiff of it.
Although she died later, as revealed in the manga, she unquestionably proved herself to be no less than other My Hero Academia female characters with her intellect and insight. Her super-thin body suit hero costume perfectly goes with her bold, dominant, and flirtatious side, which most the hero academia fans like. Her whip and hand fans are not just for show but can be used to spread her aroma, which is pretty cool.
Aside from this, plenty of hero academia women played a prominent role that is highly applaudable, be it the pro-female heroes like Rumi Usagiyama and Yu Takeyama or just girls like recommended student Momo Yaoyorozu and Itsuka Kendo from class 1.
All the mentioned academica female charaters are truly amazing and interesting characters.
The My Hero Academia female characters have proven their worth during the series with exceptional mental and physical ability, even while fighting with much stronger opponents.
