The most common misconception that prevails among people is that ‘acting is the easiest job’! Well, it certainly is not. People often make comments that actors earn lakhs or even crores by making a guest appearance in a movie or a show! On that note, the only thing I would like to say is that it’s not something they demand; it is something they have earned with time through their hard work and determination!
Will you ever be ready to take the risk of putting on 20 kilos or losing 18 kilos for the sake of your job? Not many can answer that in the positive!
Our film industry has seen many amazing, passionate actors who commit themselves not only to acting but to living the lives of their characters!
Here is a list of names of a few Bollywood actors running to our minds when we think of their dedication to their job.
1. Mr. Perfectionist!
Yes! Amir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood, is an actor and a successful director and producer. He, who made his debut in the Bollywood film industry as a child artist in 1973, might be the first person we think of when it comes to commitment and perfection!
He went through a tremendous physical changeover for his movie Ghajini in the year 2008. Aamir Khan worked out and followed a strict diet for over 13 months, with a daily regime of about four hours to achieve the next-to-impossible look for ‘Ghajini’!
2. Daddy’s girl!
Everyone knows the Bollywood celebrity who is lovingly called the Daddy’s girl! Priyanka Chopra, famously called PC, the winner of the Miss World pageant in 2000, has now reached a new level of stardom. PC, who started her journey in the Bollywood film industry, is now a Hollywood star and a singer too! She has accomplished all of this glory only because of her passion and dedication for what she does! The movie Mary Kom is sheer proof of it.
PC had undergone 45 days of rigorous strength training. It had been reported that whenever she traveled, she had her trainer travel along with her so that she didn’t miss out on the training even for a day! The movie director had placed Priyanka opposite real-life boxers during the fight scenes to make them look real!
3. Maddy, the chocolate boy!
Maddy, the cute lover boy, won the hearts of many young girls in the Tamil film industry and in Bollywood, and that too with his very first movie! Well, he is none other than the suave, R. Madhavan! Choosing against his usual chocolate boy roles, Madhavan took up several challenging roles, and he has always inscribed his versatility and dedication at each point!
One such notable role of his career is the most recent one in which he played a boxing coach in the movie ‘Saala Khadoos.’ Believe it or not, he completely dedicated three years of his life to this movie! Maddy went to the US and worked out extravagantly to get ready for his role in the film. He even built biceps which came close to the biceps’ size of the Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Maddy managed to build 18 and a half-inch biceps! Impressive ;3
4. The RockOn Guy!
One-line description: One of the most fabulous actors and surely a gift to the Bollywood film Industry! None can deny the fact that Farhan Akhtar is not only a fantastic actor but also a great film director, screenwriter, producer, an amazing playback singer, a great lyricist, and last but not least, a great television host!
He has proven his talent in each of these fields many times, such as in Rock On, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, etc.! However, one cannot forget his role in the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was released in 2013. Farhan had started his training to develop a physique apt for his role in the year 2011. He underwent rigorous training for 19 months with complete dedication! Farhan was trained for five to six hours every day. The training sessions included lessons in cycling, repetitions, swimming, football, stair running, etc.
5. The South Indian girl!
Vidya Balan is not one amongst those who climbed the ladder to success with their very first movie. She struggled hard, and with great passion and dedication, reached the peak! She was praised for her initial movies, Kismat connection, Pareenita, Heyy Baby, etc. She was highly applauded for the film Kahani too. The most significant turnover for her career was her role in the movie ‘The Dirty Picture’! She took a great risk of putting on 12 kilos for her movie. She put on the extra kilos to get into the character that she was portraying.
Who says acting is an easy job?
Well, this was just a trailer, picture toh abhi baaki hai mere dost…
