The new poster of Padmavati is out and Shahid Kapoor’s look is totally justifying his character of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Shahid is seen in a full beard and trimmed mustache giving him a royal look which is much different from his usual chocolate boy avatar. Background of the poster is a scene from war with blood smeared on Shahid’s clothes.
Shahid will be seen playing the role of Padmavati’s husband Ratan Singh who was the Rajput ruler of Mewar. Before Shahid, Deepika’s poster was released as Rani Padmavati and DP looked stunning in it. Though her look was appreciated by many, some even criticised her unibrow.
Padmavati is a period drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Raza Murad. Ranveer Singh will be seen in the role of Alauddin Khilji who wishes to capture Padmavati. The film was originally scheduled for release on 17 November 2017, but due to extreme protests in Rajasthan and attack on the sets of Padmavati the release date moved ahead. Now the film will be released on 1st December 2017.
