This is a 2013 American musical drama film directed by John Carney. The movie revolves around two core characters Gretta James (Keira Knightley) and Dan Mulligan (Mark Ruffalo).
In the movie, Gretta is a beautiful young girl trying to recover from a break-up with one of the most successful musicians Dave Kohl (Adam Levine). On the other hand, Dan, a struggling record label executive, is trying to get more attached to his family which is not even his family anymore.
2. Perks of Being A Wallflower
This is a 2012 American drama film based on a novel named same as the movie. The movie is about the character Charlie (Logan Lerman) who is the wallflower and is really close friends Sam (Emma Watson) and her step-brother Patrick (Ezra Miller).
Charlie being the wallflower knows the people around him way better than they know themselves and one of the best perks of being a wallflower is you can never hurt anyone intentionally.
3. Lights Out
This is a 2016 American horror film directed by David F. Sandberg. The movie is about a family of a mother suffering from serious mental issues, her kids and a female ghost who could only be seen when the lights went out. This is one of the best home alone movies on Netflix.
4. Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them
This 2016 fantasy film directed by David Yates is another great movie to watch when you are home alone. The movie is about the lead character Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his magical suitcase which kept his magical creatures safe and secure. But what happens when these magical creatures escape from the suitcase is what will make you want to watch it over and over again.
5. Call Me By Your Name
This is a 2017 romantic drama film based on a novel of the same name as the movie by Andre Aciman. This is a love story of a 17-year-old boy, Elio (Timothee Chalamet) and a 24-year-old man Oliver (Armie Hammer). The movie shows how easy it is to fall in love with someone but how not so easy to have the courage to take a stand for it especially when the people around are not accustomed to it.
6. White Bird in A Blizzard
This is a 2014 American drama thriller movie based on the novel of the same name as the movie by Laura Kasischke directed by Gregg Araki. This movie is about a girl Kat short for Katrina Connors (Shailene Woodly) whose mom disappears when she was only 17. Later she finds out that her mother never left her but was killed. The movie revolves around the present day of the lead character and flashbacks from her teenage and is one of the great home alone movies on Netflix.
