This was India’s first historic joy since the 1983 World Cup win. India, in the match, managed 157 runs in total with Gautam Gambhir scoring 75 and Rohit Sharma a solid 30, who won the title of India’s best performer.

The final over begun where Pakistan needed 13 runs to win the match when Sreesanth caught Misbah-ul-Haq where he became Pakistan’s 10th wicket. Pakistan was bowled out for 152 in 19.3 overs pursuing India’s 157 for 5. Misbah-ul-Haq scored 43 off 38 balls including 4 sixes, making India the roaring back in style with the US $49,000.

In the last over Bangladesh needed 11 runs in the last over.  Bangladesh lost in the final over by giving 2 wickets to India and falling short of 1 run.
