Bathrooms get dirty faster than any other room in the home. This is a simple fact of life; bathrooms are made to deal with waste and dirty water, and the more people in your home, the more waste there is to flush and wash away

As such, you’ll never be able to keep your bathroom clean without putting in a bit of elbow grease – we’re sorry to get your hopes up there! But that being said, you can improve your bathroom in such a way that you don’t need to clean it quite so frequently.

And even better, we’ve got a little list of the improvements to make right here for you. Check them out.

Increase Your Ventilation

The less chance there is for moisture to settle into the walls, the cleaner your bathroom will be – without any effort. Ventilation takes all that damp, soggy air and pushes it outside the house, meaning your bathroom will be left clean and dry after you’ve taken a bath or shower.

And if you find you commonly have to walk into a bathroom that’s all steamed up, even an hour or so after use, you definitely need to get a new vent in there! Mold thrives off of this dampness getting into the plaster, even behind the protection of the tiles, but you can stop the spots of black mold from building up with just a bit of a stronger airflow.

Do Away with Scale at the Source

Scale build ups are very common, but they’re also very annoying. You’re constantly fighting against scum in the sink and crusty build ups around faucets and drains, and they’re all caused by scale.

This is usually due to the lime that’s naturally in our water sources; with so much of the stuff passing through pipes every day, some of it is going to stick. And when it does, it causes a big mess that attracts other grime to it.

To prevent the scale from getting on top of you again, it’s worth thinking about using a salt-free water conditioner in your home. You won’t even need to add anything to your water tank yourself, seeing as you can install the conditioner on top of the current plumbing system.

Get a Bigger Trash Can Than You Think You Need

Sick of taking out the bathroom trash every couple days? Get rid of the tiny can you bought! Replace it with one that’s at least double the size, and make sure you line the can with a bag you can easily take out and tie up.

That way you won’t need to wrestle with taking out the trash, and you won’t need to take it out anywhere near as often either. Make sure you spray some disinfectant in the can in between changes and give it a wipe down, but otherwise, you’ll be way less busy.

Keeping your bathroom clean can seem like an endless task. Change that by using the tips above.
