1.1 Cat-Cow Pose with Breath

Before doing this pose, make sure to have a warm-up for your spine and any stretch of your choice.

This restorative pose is very beneficial as it concentrates all over the spine of our body, our upper back, and our lower body, and gently stretches the spine flexibly.

By doing this asana, you are moving your spine from neck to tail and back again so basically you are stretching and lubricating the entire spine and back.

Here are some common steps to follow while doing this yoga block poses:

  • Get back on your knees, When you inhale the air, try to lift your tail in an upward direction by dropping your belly downwards and keeping your face looking up. When you exhale.
  • Try to tuck your tail, make an arch of your back, and slowly drop your head so that your body aligns to the navel level.
  • After doing it a few times, start taking the Lion breathing technique on your exhalations. Inhale through the nose in the same pose as usual.

As you exhale, let your inner cat roar till the tone back of your throat, and try to exhale as forcefully as you can through your mouth by putting your tongue towards your chin. Now move to these Lion-cow rounds to open up your throat.

1.2 Halasana (Plow Pose) or Overactive Throat Chakra

This is a very beneficial and tremendous pose to try out. If you feel that you are not flexible enough to put your feet on the floor behind your head then do it against the wall so that it touches the wall.

You have to trick to some extent for positioning the right distance from the wall, which varies from person to person.

Here are directions to do yoga with this throat chakra yoga pose:

  • Simply lie down on your back. Slowly bring your leg upwards in a vertical direction and try to touch the floor behind your head. Keep your arms facing different directions on both sides.
  • The balls of your feet touch the floor behind your head. If you are unable to touch the floor then at least try to touch the wall behind you.
  • Once you have touched the feet to the floor or against the wall slowly roll your shoulder tips under your back each to bring up your chest upwards to chin.

With your both forearms flat and straight, interlock your fingers inside your back and try to press your both palms facing together. Your hips should be aligned to your shoulder and keep your head still and balanced.

  • Lie down straight as usual then lift your both legs together in a vertical position at a time.
  • There is a common mistake which is made by almost the majority of people that feet should be aligned with hips, not with the face.

Focus and do your best to stand like it and correct the common mistake made by almost everyone or if you can’t find out let your friend be there to look at you.

Don’t try to look in the mirror as you are not supposed to move your head in these yoga poses. By this, it will be balanced throat chakra.

  • Now to come out from this position, slowly bring yourself back to the original and try to touch the chin towards the chest and release your arms to the floor.

2. Important Notes to Keep in Mind While Doing the Poses and All Fifth Chakra

Plough pose and shoulder stand can benefit you by using props. We highly recommend you use folded blankets while doing these poses to avoid any type of injury or harm.

It will help in maintaining the shoulder blades and natural curves of the neck. Without using the folded blanket it can pressurise your neck.

Take a firm blanket to use in specially fish pose this time, because during these throat chakra poses, there are high chances of spilling off your head, eventually Your head is always on the floor so to avoid all these problems, make sure to fold the blanket properly.

If you notice any unfolded space then kindly take your time to properly refold it, as it can cause huge harm to your head.
