- God gave the purpose for us in this life is revealed by astrology, which is a map of the soul
Numerous people believe astrology to be a reliable source of human destiny, which is why it is growing in popularity. But what does the Bible say concerning persons who seek the advice of fortune tellers and utilize astrology as a tool for life guidance?
It can be found in the Bible in Isaiah 47:13–15 NIV. “You’ve become exhausted from all the advice you’ve gotten.”

Let the stargazers who foretell the future for you every month, your astrologers, step up and protect you from the impending doom.
They will undoubtedly be destroyed by the fire, like a straw burning. Even trying to escape the flames is impossible for them. No one can save you; each one continues in his folly.
What Does the Bible Say about Astrology:
According to the Bible, constellations are recognized collections of stars that God created, and these stars brought God’s judgment, and we can interpret what the heavens declare. Three are mentioned in the Bible: Job 9:9, 26:13, 38:31–32, and Amos 5:8.
They are Orion, the Bear (Ursa Major), and “the crooked serpent” (likely Draco). The Pleiades constellation is mentioned in the same texts (The Seven Stars).
These constellations are “fastened by the bands” by God, who also brings each one into existence “in its season.”
God also refers to the “Mazzaroth,” which is typically interpreted as “constellations” in Job 38:32. Many believe this refers to the zodiac’s twelve constellations.

For thousands of years, people have observed and analyzed constellations. Many years before Christ, the Greeks and Egyptians used the zodiac to determine the start of spring.
Numerous hypotheses about the meaning of the zodiacal constellations have been put forth, including one that holds that they represent a prehistoric illustration of God’s redemptive plan.
For instance, the constellation Virgo may serve as a reminder of the virgin who bore Christ, and the constellation Leo may serve as a celestial representation of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). But neither of these constellations nor any other are given a “hidden meaning” in the Bible.
According to Genesis 1:14 of the Bible, the sun, moon, and stars were all created to serve as “signs” and “seasons” or as a way for humanity to keep track of time.
Throughout history, men have utilized the stars to plot their journeys throughout the world as “signs” or “indicators” for navigation.
God illustrated His promise to Abraham to provide him with an endless line of descendants using the stars (Genesis 15:5).
As a result, Abraham constantly received a reminder of God’s goodness and God’s power when he glanced up at the night sky.
Astronomical events involving the stars will occur in conjunction with the earth’s final judgment (Isaiah 13:9-10; Joel 3:15; Matthew 24:29).
God addresses the people of ancient, Paganic Babylon in this earliest reference to astrology in the Bible. According to Middle Eastern archaeology, the nation of Babylon, now known as Iraq, is where astrology began.
Horoscope charts going as far back as the fifth century BC have been discovered in ancient manuscripts.
The relative positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets in the sky have an impact on people and how human affairs will turn out, according to astrology, a form of prediction.
Many people are using astrology experts’ services in the recent era, much as they did in biblical Times.
Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, had a significant occurrence described in the Book of Daniel. The king had a strange dream and was curious about what it meant. According to Daniel 2:2 NIV, the king inquired the spell casters, wizards, and fortune tellers to explain his dream.
Astrology: What Is It?

The fortune tellers, also called “Chaldeans,” were a group of purported “wise men” who practiced divination in the king’s inner circle. Astrology’s true name in Hebrew directly translates to “divining the heavens.
Using signs and interpreting omens or another supernatural agent, divination is the practice of predicting the future or disclosing hidden meaning. God forbids the use of paganism’s form of divination. Leviticus 19:26 NIV in the Bible says, “Do not use sorcery or divination.”
The pagans who lived in the biblical regions were adept at divination. God advised the Israelites not to use astrology as they approached the Promised Land of Canaan.
For example, in Deuteronomy 18:9, 12, and 14 NIV, “Do not emulate the abhorrent behaviors of the peoples there.
The people you will conquer pay attention to individuals who use magic or divination. The Lord, your God, has forbidden you from doing so.
The Lord knew anyone who engages in these actions.” Divination is thought to be a very sin. Arrogance and rebellion are both like the sin of divination, according to 1 Samuel 15:23 NIV.
Millions of common people inquire about everyday astronomical events with wide readerships out of interest and fun. Is it acceptable to be interested in astrology in this ‘fun,’ casual way?
What guidance does the Bible provide for such things? God strongly advises that we “desist from all impression of evil” in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV.
Significance of the Zodiac
Aries (March 21–April 19), Taurus (April 20–May 20), Gemini (May 21–June 20), Cancer (June 21–July 22), Leo (July 23–Aug 22), Virgo (Aug 23–Sept 22), Libra (Sept 23–Oct 22), Scorpio (Oct 23–Nov 21), Sagittarius (Nov 22–Dec 21), Capricorn (Dec 22–Jan (Feb 19-March 20).
These twelve signs of the Zodiac are divided into four elements: water, air, fire, and earth. These 12 signs have advantages, disadvantages, strengths, and false beliefs. Similar to how different zodiac signs are linked to specific personality qualities.
The zodiac signs of Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra belong to the element of air. People who belong to the event of air are regarded as outgoing, intelligent, and excellent advisors.
Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo are the signs of the fire element in astrology. Fire elemental people are seen as volatile, powerful, and born kings.

Last but not least, the signs of Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn have earth elements. According to “Zodiac Signs and Astrology Signs Meanings and Characteristics,” those who belong to the earth element are said to be sensible, grounded, and pragmatic.
There is a false belief as the elements that hold certain zodiac signs are compatible.
This indicates that some zodiac signs are more disposed toward romance than others. Two zodiac signs belonging to the same element will match.
Zodiac signs can, however, also get along with characters that aren’t in their element. Air and water signs complement each other, while earth and water signs complement each other.
However, this false belief system advises against dating or wedlock someone incompatible with your zodiac sign. As a result, a fire sign and a water sign should not be friends, in a relationship, or be married.
Astrology: Broke Faith?
King Nebuchadnezzar had entrusted his dream interpretation to his royal astrologers and other wizards. What was their reaction?
The astrologers said to the king, “There is not a man on earth who can do what the king requests!” Daniel 2:10 NIV. No sorcerer, illusionist, or fortune teller has ever been asked to do such a thing by king nebuchadnezzar, no matter how powerful or big.
The King’s dream and the royal astrologers were unable to assist him.
Daniel was called before the king to interpret the dream because he is God’s faithful. God endowed him with genuine Holy Spirit abilities due to his fervent prayer.
In Daniel 2:27–28 NKJ, the Bible has God’s prophet Daniel responding to the king and saying, The secret which the king has asked, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot divulge to the king.
King Nebuchadnezzar was informed of what would transpire in the last days by the Heavenly God, who revealed mysteries.
With the help of God’s blessing, God’s prophet Daniel could then recount and clarify the king’s profound prophetic dream. “Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these…’ “
If we need to make sense of complicated circumstances in our lives, it is wise to avoid the error and evil of astrology divination.
Instead, let us know that “there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets.” We can pray and seek guidance, just like Daniel did. Furthermore, the Bible contains His firm advice regarding truth.
Bible Verses on Astrology
Deuteronomy 4:19,
“And careful should you lift your own eyes to the whole heaven and behold the sun and the moon and all the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things which your God has given to all the peoples beneath the whole heaven.”
Daniel 4:7,
“The Chaldeans, magicians, enchanters, and astrologers entered, and I told them about the dream, but they could not explain its meaning to me.”
Daniel 2:27,
According to God’s prophet Daniel 2:27, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show the king the riddle that the king inquired.” Daniel answered the king.
Jeremiah 10:2,
“Learn not the path of the nations, nor be startled at the signs of the skies because the nations are dismayed at them,” declares God.
Isaiah 47:13,
You are exhausted by your numerous plans; let those who divide the sky, observe the stars, and predict your future using the new moons stand up and save you.
Leviticus 20:6,
“I will set my face against that individual and cut him off from among his people if he turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them.”
Leviticus 19:26,
It states that blood-containing flesh cannot be consumed. You are not allowed to make fortunes or interpret omens.
Isa. 8:19,
“Shouldn’t a people ask their God when they are told to “inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter”? Should they speak with the deceased on their behalf?”

Daniel 1:20,
It states that the king “found them 10 times better than all the royal astrologers and all the magicians who were in all his dominion in everything of true wisdom and own understanding.”
Genesis 1:14,
“And God’s word, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the skies to divide the day from the night, for days, years, seasons, days, and signs, respectively.
– St. Augustine states
The virtuous Christian should be wary of fortune tellers and anybody else who makes vain prophecies. There is already a risk that astrologers have entered into a covenant with the devil to imprison a man in the bonds of hell and darken his spirit.
What Did the Renowned Persons Say About Astrology?
God gave the purpose for us in this life is revealed by astrology, which is a map of the soul.
Hippocrates, Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo, and Pythagoras were among the renowned persons who studied astrology and applied it to various fields throughout history.
-Hippocrates said about astrology
Fortune telling is credited with developing modern medicine. It all began with the physical body parts being linked to the twelve zodiac signs’ corresponding bodily components.
A doctor who doesn’t understand the truth about astrology, according to Hippocrates, is a doctor who lacks wisdom. The Bible has a wealth of astrological knowledge.
The twelve disciples stand for the zodiac signs, and God represents the Sun.
Kabalistic Astrology
According to the book Kabalistic Astrology, each of Jacob’s twelve sons served as a symbol for one of the twelve zodiac signs. Each son’s characteristics helped to characterize the signs as we know them today.
Please keep an open mind; it’s crucial. Each Christian has the freedom to apply their interpretation of the Scriptures because there are so many different ways to read the Bible.
We want to concentrate on what God said and some of the most inspiring Bible lines that support a belief in concepts that are often difficult for us to comprehend.
Astrology can still be seen in art and architecture if you travel to Europe and visit old churches.
Why would our forebears go to such trouble to include all twelve zodiac signs in church décor worldwide if there was no reality to astrology as part of the Christian faith?
Astrology is being studied by Christians using it to understand better who they are. Basic astrology can provide an accurate and thorough portrait of our personality’s strengths and talents, like the personality assessments companies offer employees, such as the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator or Strength Finders.
Is It Sinful to Believe in Zodiac Signs?
This bothersome query plagues many Christians. Should they accept zodiac signs as true?
It’s a resounding NO! Because God’s prophets consistently exposed astrology practitioners in the Old Testament, they shouldn’t put their faith in horoscopes.
The use of astrology and horoscopes is expressly forbidden in the New Testament.
According to the apostle Paul, practicing astrology and believing in horoscopes is a sin that must be repented.
If you believe in the zodiac or astrological signs, you seek an astrologist’s interpretation of the stars and celestial bodies regarding your fate and personality features.
Paul instructed the church to eliminate anything connected to abhorrent practices to protect believers from false beliefs.
Sorcerers, diviners, and fortune tellers brought their books and burned them in front of everyone. After that, God was able to use them to awaken wonder.
Practicing zodiac sign ideas and behaviors amount to engaging in astrology, which God forbade and regards as wicked.
Closing thoughts
Because zodiac sign belief is a component of astrology, it is wrong in God’s view. Selective attention and selective memory are typically present when we believe in zodiac signs.
For instance, if you go to a fortune-teller to have them “read your future,” they typically identify many potential astronomical events.
To convince you that they are telling the truth, you will only pay attention to the events that take place and ignore the ones that don’t.
We will suffer the repercussions when we try to do things in God’s strength and go against God.

Spiritual powers characterize the universe of astrology, and as the holy say to say about astrology, we are not engaged in a battle against flesh but rather principalities and powers.
Even while certain astrologers may provide you with readings and information that are personalized for your personality, it is still true that astrology is a filthy and immoral practice.
All the stars and the celestial bodies were not made by God to be worshipped; rather, the Bible demonstrates that God created them to serve as timekeepers. Jesus Christ, other gods, and prophets have all spoken out against magic and divination.
This is why worshiping the stars brought god’s judgment every time. Even in his judgment, God specifies astrologers as those who shall be burned as stubble.
God’s prophet Daniel, for his own understanding, shamed the royal astrologers of the Babylonian court.
