The 90’s cartoon characters are certainly the most beloved and iconic characters of all time. So, I have brought a list of the top 14 characters we all love and grew up watching.

1. Tom (Tom and Jerry)
We like Tom more than Jerry because we get the fact that it’s not a cat and mouse race, it’s a cartoon, and here Tom is the one who always faces problems caused by Jerry. Jerry has always been the smarter one and knows how to deal with different situations. So, it’s evident that Jerry chases Tom, and we feel sorry for him. And that’s why he is much more memorable to us.
2. Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
We like the intelligent grey rabbit from Looney Tunes, who won all the battles over his enemies and was always seen chewing a carrot. He also appeared in other cartoons like Porky’s Hare Hunt and Merrie Melodies. We often saw him dressing up to portray different personalities!
3. Popeye (Popeye the Sailor Man)
We like Popeye and also his biceps. Bluto, the bearded character, always creates problems for Popeye spending time with Olive Oyl. Popeye would gain back all his power after eating his Spinach, and how can I forget to mention the theme song which followed:
“I’m Popeye the Sailor Man, I’m Popeye the Sailor Man. I’m Strong to the Finish because I eat my Spinach. I’m Popeye the Sailor Man.”
Many characters from Popeye the Sailor Man were inspired by people from real life. Popeye was inspired by Frank “Rocky” Fiegel, Olive Oyl by Mrs. Dora Paskel, and Wimpy by J. William Schuchert.
4. Genie (Aladdin)
Genie was undoubtedly the best character in Aladdin. He would talk directly to the viewers and prove his friendship whenever Aladdin faced a problem. Do you remember how he would change his style of saying and portraying the dialogues in the split of a second and how his funny sense of humor always cracked us up?
Robin Williams was the voice of Genie and Aladdin’s character after Tom Cruise, and Jasmine was modeled after Jennifer Connelly.
5. SpongeBob (SpongeBob SquarePants)
SpongeBob is our favorite because of his enthusiastic and optimistic behavior, cute rectangular face, and big eyes! This cartoon gave us hilarious grammar lessons and weirdly amazing quotes for any situation.
The SpongeBob Musical” will be launched in Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in June 2016.
6. Blossom (The Powerpuff Girls)
We like Blossom, a competent leader and the smartest one in the group. She also possesses a refined intellect. She was the one who would make her sisters patch up.
Powerpuff Girls were returning with new series in 2016.
7. Himawari (Crayon Shin-Chan)
We like Himawari, the youngest stubborn child of the Nohara family, who gets attracted to shiny objects, branded things, and every handsome young man. She is always found annoying Shin-Chan.
Crayon Shin-Chan (1992) is a Japanese series. It became prevalent in many other countries. It shows the adventures of Shinnosuke (known as Shin Chan).
8. Dexter (Dexter’s Laboratory)
We adore Dexter, an intelligent young boy whose primary goal is to dominate the world with his numerous gadgets and computers. He is a Supergenius but often means to others because he has no friends. But even if he tries to be mean to everyone, he has a caring heart which we have seen in numerous situations where he shows care for his annoying sister Dee Dee.
Two different women voiced Dexter. Two different women also voiced Dee Dee.
9. Velma (Scooby-Doo)
We like Velma (“born with a mystery book in her hand”), the brilliant young woman who is always prone to losing her glasses.
We remember her famous dialogue, “My glasses; I can’t see without my glasses!”
The dialogue “My glasses; I can’t see without my glasses” was not part of the original cartoon until Nicole Jaffe, who voiced Velma, uttered these words.
10. Kit (TaleSpin)
We like the 12-year-old Kit, Baloo’s best friend, and an orphaned bear cub, because of his intelligent, daredevil, and mischievous personality. He hated it when someone treated him as a kid. He liked cloud-surfing and hated spinach.
11. Spinelli (Recess)
We like Spinelli because her stern look and the way she is makes people believe that she is hard to be friends with. But she proved them wrong because she was the one member of the gang who had a heart of gold. She is the one who makes the gang perfect because she can keep all the annoying kids away, thanks to her complex personality.
12. Scrooge McDuck (DuckTales)
We like Scrooge McDuck (also known as Uncle Scrooge) because of his funny, adventurous, stubborn, and greedy personality in this cartoon.
“No man is poor who can do what he likes to do once in a while! And I like to dive around in my money like a porpoise! And burrow through it like a gopher! And toss it up and let it hit me on the head!” -Scrooge McDuck.
We first saw Uncle Scrooge in the Comics.
13. Timon & Pumbaa (The Lion King)
We like both Timon and Pumbaa and can’t choose one. Pumbaa is a kind warthog and Timon is a very talkative Meerkat. They were always found indulging in arguments with each other. And we all love the song in this cartoon, “Hakuna Matata Timon and Pumbaa.”
14. The New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
We like Pooh because he is adorable. He loves honey just a little too much, which makes him and his friends face trouble.

“There there,” said Piglet.
